Period And Pregnancy

I'm not preggy and I dont plan on getting preggy anytime soon, but I was curious.

After you give birth, do you immediately get your period? Like that day? I've heard about the nurses checking pads after your delivery to make sure you arent passing clots?

Any input would be appreciated!

No, your period doesn't go back to normal for 2-3 months. Most women bleed for 3-4 weeks before their body goes back to normal.

As soon as your have your baby, you bleed. You will bleed for 3-6 weeks fallowing the birth. It may take a few months though to get back to normal. I really don't know about the whole clot thing, since I havn't had a baby yet. I guess I will find out in 3 more months! Smile

I did not bleed directly after I had my daughter. I breast-fed and didn't get a period for nearly six months! About the pad thing... If you have an epesiotomy (sp) they generally use a frozen pad to help you get a little more comfortable and reduce swelling. They do from time to time check the pad for bleeding.
