Dilation And Discovery of Retinal Hole
Posted: 08-07-04 11:35am

I initially had a new floater that was pretty noticeable in my left
eye. I went to my general eye doctor and he said the retina looked ok,
but when taking a more detailed look he said there was something
suspicious. I was referred to a retinal specialist and he said my left
eye was fine, but checked my right eye and said there was a small hole
and he repaired it within minutes and I was out of the office. It was
quite an easy, non-invasive procedure. The nurse of the retinal
specialist dilated my eye about 10 minutes before the doctor examined
my eyes and performed the procedure. I know that when the eyes are
dilated your vision becomes blurred, but my vision did not seem that
blurry at the time my eyes were checked by the doctor. Would the
doctor have done the retinal exam and subsequent laser treatmemt if my
eyes were not dilated enough? How would I have an effective analysis
of my eyes if the eyes were not dilated enough? This doctor has an
fine reputation.
