A friend asked me, "could you marry
someone who you had never seen and never
would be able to see?" they were
referring to if I were blind. I turned
to them and said, "yes, I could. I think
the world would be a better place if
everyone were blind. That way people
would be loved for who they really are and
not just because they're a pretty face.
People would not be judged on appearance,
but loved for who they really are.. On
the inside. Everyone would be equal."

Very good points. Way too many people
are all about looks. And for those of us
who are not blind, even though looks are
not everything, they do matter. I mean,
you have to be attracted to the person or
it won't work. But if you were blind I
guess that would not matter at all. Huh,
never thought of that before.

Beautiful words! I have never thought of
that, but it is a great thought. Too
many people are together b/c of looks
and/or money. If we were all blind, we
would have to look at the inside of the
person. We would have no choice. I am
glad you posted this thread!
Girl you are so right! It would be a
better world!

I'm glad you guys liked it. Yeah, I had
never thought of it either..Until that
moment that he asked. Then, without even
thinking about it..It was like the words
just came to me...I said it. It actually
kind of freaked me out. The more I
thought about it, the more I realized it
was sooo true. The only reason that looks
matter to people are because they can see
them. If they couldn't see them, then it
wouldn't matter. And it wouldn't be like
anyone could laugh or make fun of them for
being with that person, because they
wouldn't be able to see them either...Just
like the rest of the world. Then again,
maybe that's the reason god gave us
eyes....To see which ones of us loved for
the right reasons. Who knows, it's a
complicated world. I just thought it
would be nice to share.

i totally agree. It would seem to be
better, but .God gave us eyes to see. I
love looking into my husbands eyes and
seeing how much he loves me. And my
little puppy thinks I am the greatest
thing in the world because I feed him and
play with him and take him out so he can
"go"!And I see the care in my parents'
eyes that tell me they would rather trade
spaces with me than see me suffer through
cancer. So, yes, you are right that .God
gave us sight for a reason.
With lots of love,
megan

Oh yes. I would not trade my eyesight
for the world! But had we never had it,
we would not know what we were missing.
Well, god "tests" us all of the time.
This is just one of our little tests.
