Hey everyone...I was online researching
pregnancy and miscarriage symptoms...And I
ran into this site and read up on some of
the stuff that you guys talk about so I
decided to join in.
First off im 18 and my boyfriend and I
have had sex three times in the last month
and a half, we used a condom everytime,
and he told me that he only cumed just the
one time.. Any way, the last time I had
my period was june 17th, and I have not
had it since, around the week that I was
suppose to have it I went to the doctor to
get birth control pills, and for anyone
who knows about them, your suppose to take
them the first sunday after you get your
period, so I didnt say anything at the
doctors and they also took a pap test,
(checking for cancer and what
not)...Anyway.. I am experiencing brown
spotting and some tissue, I really dont
know what this means. It is normal for
me to be irregular, I have missed my
period before I even started having
sex...And my diet has definitly changed
since school had let out.. I mean other
then my missed period.. I havent really
showed any other signs of being pregnant,
I just dont know what to think...Does
anyone have any thoughts on this?
Thanks

Did you ever start the birth control?
Since you have missed your period, the
best thing for you to do would be to take
a home pregnancy test! Good luck and
definately keep us updated!

I've never heard of waiting until the
sunday after your period to start birth
control pills
The ones i've ever used (in uk) say to
either start taking on the first day of
your period and you are then covered
straight away (assuming you don't have sex
during your period) or start anytime but
use an additional method ie condoms for
seven days.
This isn't just what I have heard or what
my doctor has said but from the leaflet in
the pill box itself
if you have used condoms and are sure they
didn't split and you followed the rules ie
no contact unless condom on, etc. Then I
wouldn't expect you to be pregnant.
But take a test anyway, but as it is
nearly 8 weeks (my lmp was june 1 I would see your
doctor to find out any underlying cause as
to why you may have missed your period.

Hello if you haven't had a period for tht
long you need to see your
doctor anyway if your lmp was that long
ago being an ob nurse
i know several factors could cause that
problem other then pregnancy
but you definetely don't want to start
birth control until you know for
sure and the start the pill on sunday
thing is something we use to tell
patients but now you can start anytime
hope everything works out
the way you want it

Being that as of this date you still
havent' started I would definetly take a
home preg test or head to the Dr. If it
turns out that you are infact pregnant,
sometimes implantation causes the brown
spotting type stuff. Keep us all
updated, good luck!

You have always been able to start your
pill on any day that you want after your
period. Doctors say to start on sunday
because it is easier for them to keep
track of you and your cycle if you start
on sunday along with everyone else!
Whether someone is a "nurse" or not does
not make them right all of the time.
Plus, this is the internet and anyone can
say whatever they want. I could claim to
be a doctor or the virgin mary and no one
could prove any different. I suggest you
take all of this advice just as that,
advice, not medical info.
Besides, if a person really was an obgyn
nurse they would know that sperm does not
die immediately!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
