If Anyone Can Help Please Do Posted: 09-28-03 22:48pm
Hi im a 19yr old female, and in
desperation and extreme pain, managed to
find this site holding my head. I have no
money and need to know what is wrong and
if its serious. Ive recently given up
drinking, am a smoker. Fairly stressed,
but lately have been punished by god with
these wicked pains in my head. It started
of in my eyes and i'd nearly collapse when
I tried to look left or right like a
contsant wieght on my brain especially
when near light(using my right eye) after
a few weeks it disappeared and is moved
itself to my temple which of course was
like the most painful migraine which
lasted a couple of weeks....... Now im
here in tears , broke on my arse thinking
it might be serious as the pains are like
blockages or shooting pains or something,
it is mainly at the back right hand side
of my head but also above my ear, the pain
is in strips about three inches long but
no wider than a cm. I cant do anything
about the pain,
paracetamol/panadol/nurofen are having no
affect.
Has anyone ever heard of this, or know
what a likely diagnosis would be, and or
home remidies.
All advice will be greatfully accepted as
this is just too much

"pain Pain", Please Go Away, Come Visit Me Some O Posted: 10-03-03 23:12pm
I've just erased a lot, this page was
full, my daughter says I have to make my
e-mails shorter. I know for a fact that u
need to see a doctor. Don't do like I
did, u need help & somehow u need to
get 2 a doctor. I've been suffering all
my life, so I know exactly what u r
talking about, the headaches got worse
after a car accident. Having headaches
to the point of tears isn't healthy at
all. In 1995 I became addicted to
darvocet, because I was having pain so
bad. I'm still having really bad
headaches, but since my brain surgery I
have a lot of doctors taking care of me
the best that they can. I got to the
point where I was having hallucinations
& hearing things in my head & I
really thought that if I told the doctors
this, they will think i'm just going
crazy. It frighten me so bad, that I
eventually told them. I had all kinds of
specialists. I wasn't happy at all with
the idea of psychiatrist. I had a
headache for 3-months & I was just to
sick to go to the doctor. That's why i'm
telling u so that this won't happen to u.
I'm 43, still suffering, but that's just
one of my symptoms. I have about 10 more.
Please! Get in contact with someone, u
don't want to get to this point where I am
now. You really need help. I hope u
understand this. It took me about 2 hours
to write this. I believe the doctors to
put a piece back in my head.(lol) I wish u
much success! Bye, bye!!

Yes that is exactly what I get. This
happend about 6 weekd ago
it starts behind the left eye now has
moved around by the ear and sometimes the
neck. Terrible pain.
I went to 3 doctors who all told me
migraine. Had an mri showing normal. Eye
doc normal. But i'm still scared some
thing terrible will happen at any minute.
However. I found excersice has helped
me. Try running tred mill is what I do as
much as you can. When I stop the pain
starts to come back. I also use excedrin
for migraine. And have stronger if I wait
to long. "relpax" . Stay away from
amitrex as side effects are pretty
debilitating.
My headaches seam to be getting a bit
better but come back every 2 days or so.
I hope this is not something I now have to
;live with. I was in perfect shape before
this. I'm 39 male. Healthy
i went to a chiroprator once but I think
i'll stop because i've read some stories
against that. Anybody have any views on
chiroprators.
I'm now doing yoga to.
Anyone else just get pain and no other
side effecfts. Is this still considered
migraine or cluster headache.???
I'm also taking magnesium feverfew and
riboflavon. I've read this could help.

Dear Sore As Posted: 10-24-03 08:12am
Hey, I completely understand not having
the money to see your family doctor, but
you need to see someone.
Here's a couple things to keep in mind:
if it gets really bad, go to the hospital.
They have to treat you, even if you
have no insurance, and no money. And
every hospital will work with you
financially, I know people who after going
to the hospital and getting a bill later
in the mail, called the hospital, and the
balance was dropped (there was a lot of
paperwork, and proving your income and
such, but it is possible)
the other thing you can try is a clinic.
A lot of clinics are associated with
hospitals, and the other way around
(hospitals associated with clinics) some
clinics offer free medical treatment to
qualifying patients, and for others they
work on a sliding scale. But there are
clinics everywhere, in every city. So
you just have to look.
Hmm... I just realized something...
Are you in the us? Cus if not, this
info may not help at all. I don't know
how healthcare works in other countries...
Just here.
At any rate, I hope this info helps.
And I hope you get help. Headaches can
be nasty, and can completely prevent you
from living a normal life.

This is to steve. Yes you hear horror
stories about chiropractors, but they are
mostly rumors. If you don't want to be
cracked the old fashioned way, a lot of
the new chiropractors have all of that new
equipment that does everything for them.
I hear it doesn't even hurt. You may
want to try that.

Tempral Arteritis Posted: 03-18-07 12:27pm
I woke up last Sunday with a headache like
I have never had. By Tuesday at work I
was wishing I could just die!
incidentally I also had progressive
swelling of the right tempral area of my
face & a "ropie knot" around the area
of the artery. Was tender to touch. I
work in ICU so I asked one Doc if I
should go see my Doc, he was not to
concerned, not being satisfied on of my
co-workers grabbed a Family Practice doc
who said it was a deep staph infection
(not hot or red or temp.???) I went to my
Internal Med. guy to beg for drugs for the
headache, and report the horrible fatigue.
He immediately said tempral arteritis and
prescribed the medrol pack after taking
the first 6 tabs..my headache was gone
within 1 hour and prednisone is cheap. He
also said thaat it could cause blindness.
Now I am still experiencing the dizziness
and fatigue, he did say may have to do
another round of the Prednisone but we'll
see, I also see an accupuncture gal who
specializes in chinese medicine she also
helped.
hope this helps, Katie2
PS without any medical backround or
teaching I don't think anyone should be
rubbing or pressing on an already inflamed
and angry artery in your head..Just a
nurses take on it.
