I do not wish to dis anyone but someone is posting on this board, claiming medical qualifications and unfortunately a fair bit of their info is not correct.
All in all don't take any advice on here as gospel, if you are not sure please please contact your doctor or midwife Rolling Eyes

I know! I think she realized she was caught and gave up! Thank god. The last thing we need is for people who don't have any idea what they are talking about claiming to be medical experts and giving people false information.

I feel a bit guilty really, I mean in her own little way she really wanted to fit in by anyway possible, unfortunately her way could have meant others suffering.
After all we all have to learn somewhere, and I remember when I was in my 3rd year class (about 13) and our personal development teacher set us a task, we each had to find out as much as we could about 3 .S.T.I's and give a one minute talk on each to the rest of the class (we had to pick our sti's from a hat lol) Laughing
she was probably the most embarassing teacher ever - she was like well over 60 and teaching sex ed, she would bring in allsorts of goodies and make us learn about each one.
Lol the day she bought femidom (female condom) in we were like what is that???
And she made us (boys and girls alike) learn how to put condom's on fruit and veg!!! We left every single lesson (once a week) with 2 condoms and were told if we needed more to just say and she would get them for us. Embarassed

Yes it takes a special person to be able to teach sex ed! Definately not that lady you mentioned! Some people just make it so embarassing that the people in the class put their mind anywhere but there and then end up learning nothing.
I understand that/why you feel badly, but her claiming to be a healthcare professional and giving out false information is no way to "fit in" if she just would have been up front and honest she would have gotten support and maybe made a few friends. Oh well, some people just don't get it.

I don't feel bad for her! I think she's pond scum for making stuff up. She shouldn't post if she's going to be like that.

I can't remember her name Crying
or Very sad I think was was something like mrs smith, but everyone loved her. I think that's because she didn't preach not to do it but made it easy to do it safe Wink
mind you she obviously taught well - we only had two under 16's out of 350 odd get pregnant (about 3 or 4 girls in the year below and there was nearly 400 in their year group).
However within a year of leaving school at least 10 - 12 that I know of had kids, several now have 3!
Oh well just goes to show what people easily forget lol Laughing

This past school year my health class went to a lecture in the hospital about safe sex, stds, and any other sex-related topics. They separated us into guys and girls and lectured us separately. They showed some pretty grotesque pictures that would convince anyone to use a condom, and they showed us all manners of protection...Comdom, female condom, dental dam, and a couple of other various objects.

It was a little sickening hearing about sex, but I learned a lot, let me tell you. But it was also kind of fun, because we got to play a game where they give us a slang name for a person's genitalia or a sexual act and we had to try and guess what it was, and then we got to come up with more slang terms x) xd

the lady there was very nice and had a good sense of humor, so we all felt very at ease learning about that stuff.

She also told us that both of her daughters were conceived while she was on birth control...So she definitely lived the nightmare of surprise conception.

..............

Scaredbaka - thought that "purple-headed yogurt slinger" was exceptionally humorous Smile
