Microgynon 30: Wrong Timing
Posted: 08-15-04 13:51pm

Hi,

i started using microgynon 30 (combined pill, 21 day thingy) a couple of weeks ago on the day I thought my period started. However, after a little bit of blood... Nothing. I'm thinking now that this was possibly because I had been to the doc's for a cervical smear test very recently. Anyway, end result being it's now almost 2 weeks later and no period (only some cramps) - my normal cycle is anything up to 2 weeks late usually. I'm not sure what to do... I definitely haven't been risking otherwise-unprotected sex. Am I protected now? Should I run 2 packets of pills together, or take the week break as if everything is normal? Confused

Just take the week break as normal. Your body will adjust. No big deal, just use backup to be safe.

Thanks, i'm just a bit concerned about having a period outside of the intended 7-day break, then taking the break. I know you're meant to be protected during that time, but still... Confused

It will be alright. If anything your "period" will just be some spotting, but your body will even back out by next month. Just use a backup method for a while to be safe.
