I Am Home From the Hosp!!!! Posted: 08-17-04 00:51am
Hey girls I just thought I would jump on
here while hayley was sleeping and tell
you all I finally got to come home today I
got here at 5pm. Hayley is so wonderful
and I could not be more happy.
*labor story*
here goes...
Sunday at 7pm went in for the cervidel and
hayley would not stay on the monitor so
they had to brake my water that night and
put in an internal monitor to watch her.
I was only like 1-2cm when she did that it
was so painful she had to put in her two
fingers and then hooks and then the
monitor. Anyways they started the pitocin
that night and I was having contractions
before I knew it. Me and my brother were
playing yahtzee and I had to quit. My
mother kept watching the toco number for
me and would tell me when they started to
go down. I was having back labor which is
the worst labor to have!!! Anyways8 ours
later still dialated 1-2cm and having
contractions like every 3 seconds so I
gave up and took the epi which did not
hurt at all. Theonly hurtful part was
bending my head down putting pressure on
belly while having contractions. Wll I
was relieved enough to go to sleep. Thaat
night hayleys heartrate dropped to the
80's and I was bound to oxygen and my left
side for the rest of the night!!! It was
terrible. So I survived through the night
and morning came the doc checked me
because when her heartrate dropped they
ran something through my veins really
quick to get the pitocin out. I was still
3cm so she decided to try the pitocin
again. In an hour in half I believe I
dialated to 6 then in the last 2 hours I
dialated to 10. The doc was giving me 30
more minutes and all the sudden as my
father and everybody was walking me in the
room the docs (like 5) grabbed my bed and
through up the bars, rushed down the hall
and almost knocked my family over. No
explanations or anything. So my mother
finally got back there and they told her
what happened. Hayley heart dropped to 60
beats per min!!!! They took out the epi
that I had and out in a new one apparently
the other was not running right. Then
they made sure I was numb and cut me open.
4 in. Mom seen it all they did not hang
the curtains all the way and she had to
watch! Well hayley was stuck. She had
got under some organs and the doc had to
yank her when he did her shoulder came out
first and ripped my uterus 3 inches!!!!
After being cut 4 she ripped it 3 more!!
Well anytime you have an injury to your
uterus they check your bladder cause they
are so close. The only options they had
was to cut open the top of my bladder and
put iodine in the iv and see if the valves
were both spraying blue. Thank god they
were. Anyways it took 3 1/2 hours to sow
me back up and hayley had had the cord
wrapped around her neck so we did not hear
her cry. Instead she had passed miconium
and they had to stick a tube like thing
down her nose into her lungs and suck it
all out. She was fine.
Well I got to recovery for an hour and
then to my room and had lots of
visitors.
I had a cathader in me for 6 days that was
red. When they took it out I finally got
to pee on my own only it was like every
sec. And finally lightened up. I got to
have a shower!!! 6 days with none so I
felt brand new!!
Well my temp. Had been up to 101.8 and
they were puttting me on cipro and then
they realized it was not working so hte
did a catscan to make sure eveything was
sowed up fine. Well I had to get in a
wheel chair for that and I felt this pop.
So when I got back to my room I told mom I
popped out a staple she called the doc and
then she said it was just soething I call
it syrup cause it kinda sounded like that,
lol. Then got the main doc in. She said
I found the problem!!! I said what she
said I need to take out a stitch. She
ended up taking them all out cause she
discovered infection set up in my
incision. Well she spread it back open
cleaned it out and then packed it they
want it to heal from the inside out
instead of the outside in like your body
does. So they put me on keflex and it
started to work. My temp stayed 97.5 and
24 hours later they said you still wanna
go home? Ha ha ha yes I do!!!
Well the good news is my baby girl and the
bad is I cant have a shower for a month
have to have a sponge bath. I have a home
health nurse come to my house 2 times a
day to to re-pack the wound and then I
have a hosp. Bed being put in my room
tomm. So I can get up. Terrible but my
baby is all worth it!!!!
Her first doc appt. Is tomm at 11:45am
and the nurse will be here at 9am so I
need to go to sleep the best I can. I
hope to here from you soon I am home now
so call me!!!
Hayley is at www.Growingfamily.Com

believe. Check out my big little angel.

Thanks girls I hve not been on for while
hayley is 11 days old now!!! I am so busy
I mean I have a home health nurse coming
to my house 2 times a day to change out
the um well what will I call it? The wet
to dry changing in my incision and then I
cant hardly move to good yet so I dont
geton much.
Hayley is a great baby. Right now she is
sleeping which she does through the
night!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am so blessed with
that seeing that I cant hardly get out of
the bed to feed her to well. I guess
everything works out lke it does for a
reason. She weighs 9lb and 11oz now.
Eats 4oz at each feeding!!! Has a great
appetite. Well girls I want to say thanks
a bunch on the comments on my hayley bean.
Shauna thats okay about calling me I was
busy that day I believe I got the cathedar
out that day and all that stuff. Did you
know they eneded up discharging hayley
when she was 4 days old??? I was so upset
but they said if somebody could stay at
the hosp with me and her that she could
stay just that the nursery was not
responsible for her anymore and becasue I
was a patient I could not take care of her
myself. So my mom came and stayed the
rest of my time there thank god!!! Okay
well gonna make a couple new post. Lots
of love,
heather and hayley
I just made a post asking about ya'll. I
am glad things are going well though! I
miss and love ya!

I am so sorry you had to go through all
that! But I know hayley is worth all the
pain. I cannot imagine having an open
wound and letting it heal from the inside
out. I have been on cipro and keflex
before, and I hope you don't get sick off
them like I did. I think they were too
strong for me b/c I threw up everytime I
took cipro! Good luck with everything
and keep us updated!!
Love,
megan
