I'm just realizing how bad of shape i'm
in. I've been hospitalized for
depression before, but I didn't have any
eating problems then. I am slowly
starting to realize that it has manifested
into a serious bulimic issue. One reason
i'm finally starting to see this is b/c I
think my taste buds are messed up. Has
this happened to anyone else?

Hi there!
Do you really mean "taste"? Remember that
taste means sour, salty, sweet etc. Most
people, like me, suffer from smell loss
which means they cannot enjoy the flavor
of food as it is perceived by the nose and
not by the tongue.
I am a 24 year old mal anorexic, suffering
also from heavy periods of depression and
I can hardly smell anymore. My taste is
normal but my smell is nearly gone.
My neurologist claims this is due to my
depression rather than malnutrition. He
said my limbic sytem was malfunctioning.
