Hi there... I'll try to make a long story
short. I'm 39 and have been ana+ for
about 2 years - first at 1:80, then 1:160
several months later, and now 1:320. My
other symptoms are: arthralgia, malar
rash on my face, raynaud's,
photosensitivity, and recurrent occult
pregnancy loss (just diagnosed).
My reproductive endocrinologist just
ordered some tests because he thought I
might have autoimmune or alloimmune issues
relating to maintaining pregnancy. Here
are my most recent results:
ana 1:320
anti-dna (ds) 34
rnp 16
sm 30
sjogren's ssa 21
sjogren's ssb 5
my lupus anticoagulant results were
(reference range):
pt 14.9 (11.9 - 14.5)
ptt-la 57.7 (0-52)
aptt 39.9 (23.4 - 36.4)
aptt 4:1np 38 (23.4 - 36.4)
thrombin time 18.5 (<1
i also tested positive for
anti-phosphocholine igm and borderline for
anti-phosphoserine igm on my
anti-phospholipid panel.
My main question is this: what is
considered a high-titer ana? I keep
hearing different things. For instance,
the rheumy I saw said he doesn't become
concerned until the test reaches 1:1280
(but then this was the guy whose first
question to me was, "so, is everything
okay at home?")
input, ideas, similar experiences? I do
know that I will not go back to him -- i'm
thinking of finding a female rheumy.
Thanks!
