Looking for help on a few things... Posted: 07-21-03 17:57pm
Hi Eveyone!
I would like some insight to a few
things...
1) Do any of you utilize special diets for
your Lupus and why?
2) What do you do for daily upset stomach
and all that comes with it?
Thanks,
LadyBrannon

Lupus And All That Goes With It Posted: 08-05-03 16:06pm
Hi new to forum. I was diagnosed with
lupus about 6 years ago. I had a red spot
to come on the top of my nose. My gen
pract. Sent me to a derma. Which did a
biop. On it . Came back discoid lupus.
I have irritable bowel , which is a joke
in it self. I started 2 years ago with
terr. Headaches, depression, hotflashes,
my memory went out with the wind. Finally
I my gen pract . Along with my asking
sent me to a neur. He had an mri done.
Came back with multipul leasions, said
they were very small. He tested me for
ms. Was neg. I will have another one
this fall. I am beginning to have more
headaches and stronger ones. I have
changed reumy. I really like this guy.
The only thing he diag me with sjogrens
and I don't have symptons unless they hit
me later. I don't have dry eyes or mouth.
In fact I swet like all getout. Can't
toll. Heat. I swet in aircondition. Let
me walk out in the sun and I swet barrels.
I also have hypothroid. I have had more
joint pain than ever before. I was on
celebrex which only made it worse. He
changed me to sulindac 200mg. Twice da.
Sofar it helps. He talked about pred.
But wanted to try this. I also take
plaqunil and celexa for depression. I try
to have a good outlook on lupus and sware
it won't get me down and then up comes
something else. However i'm not as bad as
some I thank god for that. The doctors
check my kidneys and liver every 3 mo. So
far so good. I have heartburn awful take
protonix for that. Seems I take more and
more med. But if thats what it takes.
Wish all of you well

Talking about sweats! I know exactly what
you mean. I sweat like there is no
tomorrow. Sometimes, I have to change
clothes several times a day!
About the celebrex...Did you know it has
sulfa in it...And that can cause flares in
lupus patients? Ask your doctor about it
if it bothered you!
