...And it was positive! So, me & james are definately having a baby. I am officially 6 weeks and 2 days along. The health dept. Gave me all the paperwork to fill out for wic and medicaid, so i'm good to go. I have to go back on monday and have the full work-up done, so I guess that means a blood test. I've never had blood drawn before, and all my life, I have had a severe paranoia about it. I'm terrified of having blood drawn. Obviously, I have to get over that. It's gonna be scary as hell. But, i'll be fine, i've just got to get it in my mind that it has to be done! Lol. I'll keep you guys updated!

You have never had blood taken? That is really odd. Well, it seems odd to me because I couldn't even begin to count how many times I have!
Congrats on the baby! As for the blood tests, don't fret! All you have to do is relax and don't look! Whatever you do don't look! It really doesn't hurt at all (well, if you get someone who knows what they are doing. When you get someone who is a person it does pinch a little). But, if you look it seems to hurt and you will probably get light headed. But, you will be fine!

I feel for you groomer, i'm even afraid to get blood work done for cholesterol and that sort of thing- and that's only a few drops! How much blood do they take for a pregnancy test?

I hope all goes well for you! You will be in my prayers!

Groomer 23,
i have a question for ya. I've got similar symptoms to you when you had the light bleeding. I was wondering if you ever got a positive test from a hpt. I'm either pregnant or not, but my bet is I am. However, i'm getting very discoureged because my period did show up, but it's so lite that I barely have to change my pad at all. I also had light cramping for like a week before my period came and usually I also get them really strong a day before my period and on the day of my period. I'm wondering because i've had quite a lot of symptoms lately too! Anyways, I was just wondering if you ever got a hpt test that was positive and also how many days past your period did you go to the doctor? Did you get a blood test at the doctor or a pee test?
Thanks

For Pitter Patter
Pitter patter,
hey girl! Yes, I did get positive test results, I took two tests, two days after I had the spotting (the day I was supposed to have my period), and both were positive. I went to the health dept. When I was two weeks late for my period, and there were able to give me a final positive. Best of luck to you, whatever you want the outcome to be!

Congrats on your pregnancy!

Pregnancy is the most exciting thing that can happen in your life, I just wish I would have waited. I am 16 and have a 2-year-old daughter.
