Good News!

I have stage 4 colon cancer, and I had to have a stint replaced in my right kidney today. Well, when I had the first one put in, the doc found out that my cancer was back. I had surgery back in oct 2003 to remove part of my colon which spread and had a hysterectomy with removal of uterus, tubes, cervix & ovaries. I am 20. I know, crazy, huh? Anyway, today I had my stint replaced. When I woke up, the doc came in and said that the tumor looked nacrotic, or dead/dieing!! I have been on 5fu/leucovorin and avastin for about 2 months, but had to stop the avastin b/c of too much protein in my urine. I hope to be able to continue to take the avastin so that the other tumors will die as well!! I never thought this would happen, but all the prayers are working!! So, please do not give up hope. And if you have any symptoms, please go to the doc. I was 19 when I was diagnosed, so it could happen to anyone.

Love,
megan

Meg

keep up your good spirits ! Having colon cancer at your age is very infrequent. I would consider having other relatives checked as well.

So Much For Good News...

Went to the hospital, ended up having to have a colostomy. And other problems arose that cannot be fixed. So the docs sent me home and contacted hospice. So, I don't know how long I have, which really scares me, but I know where my new home will be. Just please pray for me and my family. Thank you very much.

Love,
megan

I will say a prayer for you all. I was wondering what the symptoms were that finally made you see your doctor?
