Hi.
My mom just told me she's been having pain
in the right abdomen for the past seven
days or so. She says it starts near the
belly button and disperses to the right
side. She's also been vomiting - which
she says is "acid vomit" and says she has
a fever. She's been taking advil for the
pain and headaches and mylanta for the
"acid".
I've been doing some research and the
closest to these symptoms I have found so
far are appendicitis and gallstone/gall
infections (more appendicitis than
anything else really). But according to
what i've read, if one has appendicitis -
after 42 hours, the appendix ruptures and
they experience growing pain. I don't
know if that's true or not - but my mom
tells me that she's positive that nothing
inside her has ruptured and that the pain
isn't growing exponentially as it probably
should be if something had ruptured. She
is telling herself that she's all right
and doesn't need to go to the hospital
because the pain will eventually go
away.
I know she has ulcers and she had a kidney
infection (when she was pregnant with me
actually - 17 years back) and am thinking
that maybe these conditions are either
returning or getting worse.
I'm extremely worried and would like to
know how I can help her - since it doesn't
seem like she's going to go to the
hospital unless I call an ambulance for
her. Is there a way that it'll just go
away or fix itself? Is there some way to
figure out exactly what it is that is
making her ill? It would make things a
lot easier if I knew what it was that was
making her ill.
Thank you for your time and concern.
I really hope that someone can/will help
me out.
I thank you once again.

Your mom may have acid reflux disease that
is out of control, or she may be
experiencing pancreatisis, which can be
very dangerous. If her urine starts
getting darker or her stool gets whitish,
go to the er! I just left the hosptial
after a week stay, from pancreatitis,
which was caused by a gallstone going into
my pancreas.....At the end of the week I
had my gallbaldder out, so this should not
happen again. Your mom needs to see a
doctor in either case. Good luck!

Oh my gosh.
Thank you so much for the information. I
really appreciate it.
I'll have to work double time on trying to
get her to the hospital asap.
Thank you so much.

Whatever you have mentioned clearly
suggests your mom might be having
appendicitis. All the symptoms you told
points to appendicitis. One of my friens
has similar symptoms and then was
diagnosed with appendicitis. I read one
similar article on www.Globalthreads.Com
too. I would suggest you take your mom
immediately to a doctor.
