Light Period After Stopping Bcp Posted: 08-20-04 10:19am
Hi all..I started my last period on july
14...And decided to try a month off the
pill..Bad idea. I had unprotected anal
sex of the 24th of july (slight
chance)...But all other sex has been with
a condom. So with a 28 day cycle I should
have started again on august11th..But on
the 16th started...Have been having
constant but very light bleeding. Took a
hpt on the 15th and on the 19 of
august...Both negative. I'm going to
start my pills again..Should I start this
sunday. Was my period light because its
my first month off pills in 2 yrs? My drs
on vacation...Please let me know what yuou
think?

Starting, stopping, or switching bcp's
very often messes up your period and
causes pregnancy-like symptoms. I can't
tell you when to start your pills, but I
can say that your irregular period was
most likely caused by your change in bc.

did I miss the memo stating that there was
a slight chance of getting pregnant from
anal sex? I think you may be
missinformed... Or I completely don't
understand what you were trying to say.

Ah yah,
oh wait that is right......We went through
this on another post. No you cannot get
pregant through your arse, but if the cum
drips down into your vaginal area there is
a slight chance of conception. But for a
minute there I was like, "what?"

Your period can be light just getting off
the pill or it can be a real
gusher.Everyone's different.It will take
your body awhile to adapt to the
change.You might get your period ahead of
schedule or not at all.That's why you need
to be religious about using birth control
now.Call your doc's office.I'm sure that
there is another doc covering for her/him
while on vacation.Best of luck to
