Hi thexmen,

Okay the way you two were talking about it made me think that gad was a solution to anxiety. Sorry about that.
I cannot find cbt in my area either so don't feel bad. And as I said I bought the sam orbitz book that everyone talks so highly about here and it really was disappointing to me. If you find a self-help book that works please let me know.

I suffered from panic attacks before I learned how to use the cbt tools to help myself get rid of the attacks and my depression. I had them throughout the month but they definitely spiked around my periods. I was in a cbt group and you may want to try and find one in your area because I think it would help you. We used the obitz book and another really good book called mastery of your anxiety and panic-third edition by michelle craske and david barlow in my group and I recommend both of those books all the time. They are both cheap (about $15) and available online at www.Tao3.Com for the obitz book and at www.Amazon.Com forthe craske-barlow one.

The obitz book is my favorite starter book on cbt as it is short and simple and gives you the cbt essentials without overwhelming you. I have not read the other book that haley mentioned but she recommends it all the time and I assume it would be good too and I think she said it is a short book too, but I am not sure about that? Lastly "feeling good" by david burns is a great book but can be a little overwhelming for a first book on cbt.
Good luck!

I searched for obitz via amazon.Com and can't find. May I have the exact name of this book. Thanks.

It is been there done that, do this.. But don't waste your money.

These "tools" are really only one tool and it is very self-explanatory. Save yourself the 12 bucks and pm me if you want the info. I can just explain it to you.

i think you have to order the obitz book through the book's website (www.Tao3.Com). It's a great introductory book to cbt and most people like the book a lot but if you want a more detailed book get burn's book "feeling good" they are my two favorite cbt books.

Good luck Smile
