For awhile now i've had this weird rash on
my face. At first I thought it was acne,
so I went to see a dermatologist. They
gave me several topicals (one being
benzaclin, I believe) and they just made
my face even worse! My mom has said to me
that it does not look like acne. It's
mainly a fine rash of small red bumps. It
affects my hairline and cheeks. My chin,
nose, and forehead very rarely get it. It
makes my face blotchy, and alot of the
time my skin feels tight or stings. The
bumps are extremely itchy, too. Help!
What could this be?

It sounds kind of like what I got about 4
years ago, turns out I was allergic to my
skin cleanser, then I tried another one,
and another one...Anyway I haven't yet
found one that I dont' react to, so I
don't use any cleanser on my face, just
water, occasionally, maybe once every week
or two i'll use septra and make sure to
rinse it off really good. I used to use
aloe vera as a moisturizer and found that
I was starting to react to that as well.
So now that i'm off all cleansers and
moisturizers (and I don't wear any powder
or foundation) my skin is alot better,
though I still have breakouts of the
reaction around my period!
So even if you're using something new on
your face, or even your hair you may be
reacting to it.
And another tip I got was to tie my hair
back at night so it's not on my face, that
way any pollution or hair products don't
contribute to the problem
hope this helps!

I had moderate seborrheic dermatitis and
this produces effects similar to what your
describing. You need an antifungal agent
and possibly a mild steroid cream but put
the idea to your doc first.
