Come to find out I went back to my pcp
today for the 2nd time and it appears I
have a devaited septum. I will be
seeing a en&t specialist next week.
The same doctor who happened to take
my tonsils out a few years ago.
At any rate, it seems that I may be faced
with the surgical process of septoplasty
where they go through the nostril and
"correct" the nasal obstruction.
Has anyone had this done? How bad
is it?

After years of breathing difficulty and
recurring sinus infections, I went to a
Dr. That suggested surgical correction.
As with any surgery, it is a bit scary,
but the results were worth it. It was a
year and a half ago, and I have had a
single infection, where before, they
seemed quarterly or better. My surgeon
used a method that used no packing and
dissolving stitches. I have no regret at
all. Good luck.

Just a follow up to this. Had my surgery
almost 2 weeks ago. Everything went
great although I underestimated the
recovery time.
I had the surgery on a friday and went
back to work on monday. It wasn't until
wednesday of that week that I felt halfway
decent. They did not use any packing,
but did use dissolving stitches. 4 days
after the surgery they took out the 2
nasal splints which was really causing the
discomfort. I could not believe how
large they were. Oye!!!
At any rate I am feeling great but still a
bit tender.
