I was actually wondering if anyone here has trouble with dandruff. Since I fell pregnant I have had dandruff, I have tried all the anti dandruff shampoos and conditioners, I am taking multi vitamins, folic acid and iron tablets. I always make sure I have fully rinsed the shampoo and conditioner out when washing my hair, I have long hair nearly down to my bottom but it is flaking on the scalp. I wear it loose and wash it every 3 days. Does anyone have any solutions to cure dandruff ?

If you are pregnant there is a chances that you are going to have dandruff... The baby is using up you nutrients....Thats why we take pre-natal vitamins......So there is some for the baby and some for you...

Vitamins
Oh, maybe I am taking the wrong kind of vitamins then. The ones i'm taking are normal multi vitamins. Maybe I need some special ones for pregnancy or something that will give me back the nutrients i'm lacking to deal with the dandruff. Thanks baby for replying.

Thanks, I think I will go to the chemist and ask about that. I have never really had a problem with dandruff where it is getting to the point of annoying, so I will find the prenatal vitamins and start taking them tommorrow morning.

Dear nikki,

i am due may 12th, I went to a new doctor who I have never seen before, and I really wasn't happy with her service, she wasn't thorough enough for my liking. All she did was take my blood pressure, she said nothing about taking any vitamins at all, only folic acid and iron tablets. So I have made a new appointment with another lady doctor who I have been to before, she specialises in pregnancies. In the meantime I have bought pre natal vitamins from the chemist and started taking them, so hopefully I will see a change in the condition of my scalp soon, I hope.

Take care,

That is good that you changed your doctor....You don't want to be stuck with some you aren't comfortable with....I'm six months and I just found a doctor that I like.......Good luck with the vitamins

Ur Due On My Birthday!!!
Hey suzy,
bless! Ur babies de on my 19th b'day! I've red that when a woman gets pregnant, her hair can go either way: silky and thick or lank and greasy. Some people find their hair gets realy brittle. I'm sure ur doc will b able to recommend specific nutrients but in the meantime, if u like fish, brazil nuts etc., u should eat them cos they're good for keeping ur hair nice! Although, u need to be careful what u eat and that I wont affect the baby,
liz x
