Im 23 years old and I recently had sex for
the first time. It was very painful and
shortly after I started bleeding and it
hasn't stopped since. It's almost like im
on my period but I just had it so I know
it's not that. I know that its normal for
the first time to be painful and have some
bleeding, but is it normal to be bleeding
for this long? If anyone else has
experienced this or knows anything about
it please let help!

Yes, very possible. Something foreign has
just entered your body for the first time,
and it wasn't used to it. So therefore
some stretching and maybe even tearing
occured. Is the blood different from your
period?

Thanks for your reply. It doesn't seem
any different than my period, but i'm
nervous because its been over 24 hours and
im still bleeding. It was pretty heavy
for the first couple of hours to the point
where I was actually peeing blood, which
was really scary. I still feel a little
sore too, is that normal?

Oh being sore is definitely normal.
You're body has just been stretched! It
would be weird not to be sore after that.
As with the blood, I wouldn't worry too
much about it. But if it gets worse, or
lasts more than a few days (at the same
strength it is now) then I would maybe
look into seeing a doctor, you might have
damaged something more seriously.
