Miscarrage!!!
Posted: 09-03-04 10:47am

Well, now i'm worried! I called the 1800 number on my box of test and they told me that I could of had a miscarrage. She told me to get a blood test done. However, I don't have insurance until the end of this month I believe. Does anyone know if planned parenthood does blood test.

Planned parenthood should be able to help you.If not,see your doctor and explain the situation to her/him.Most doctors will take payments,i don't think a pregnancy test is that expensive.Good luck to you and I hope that everything is fine.Patty

I talked to the nurse at planned parenthood and she said since it was a faint line than it's probably negative. She said they only do blood work if they are really worried. However, she said in my case she doesn't think i'm going to have a miscarrage and that the test should be negative considering my other ones are negative. So now i'm not sure what i'm going to do. She did say their urine test are more sensitive than the home test. Hopefully, I will find out sooner or later. I'm soo confused. I'm really worried too.

I dunno about that... I've always heard from my doctors that even the faintest line is positive...

That's what i've always heard too. I remember her saying at first I must have taken some false negatives, but when I told her my positive was a faint, but noticable positive she said it's negative then.

I have to agree with erin.

False negatives are common.

I've always heard that there are very, very rarely, if ever, false positives. Hpt tests are so much better these days, and really if it's testing hcg that only get's produced in a pregnancy...How can you get a false positive?

What I did find out in a bunch of research I did is that most hpts are only sensitive for an hcg count of 100 or over, and since your levels start at 5 or under it will take some time to get over the 100 mark, and if your levels are close to 100 and the urine is diluted by having drunk a bunch of water, then it seems to me you could get a faint line.

Best wishes being sent your way!

Thank you! I felt a little reassured by what you all said. Also I talked to a couple friends who have babies now and they both said that with their first pregnancy they got a faint line and then a negative line and then again a week later a very positive line. Soooo I guess I shouldn't worry quite yet. We'll see, I definately still feel pregnant cause my moodiness is deffanitly here this week.
Thanks everyone!
