I have been charting my bbt for the last
month. My problem is that I always get up
in the middle of the night to use the
restroom(i always have). I usually go to
bed @ 10pm and wake up to go to the
restroom @ 4am. Should I take my bbt then
or when I wake up @ 7am. I am afraid that
this is effecting my results.
I tried taking my temp last night @ 4am
and it was 97.4 but when I took it @ 7am
it was 98.1, which one do I chart? Please
help I want to do this correctly!!

Ummmmmmmm I could be wrong but.....
So long as you take your temp at the same
time each day, anytime should be ok, but I
personally would go for the "wakey up,
rise and shine" one so for you that would
be your 7am temp.

My temps are totally different @ the two
times though. @ 4am its low meaning I
haven't ovulated and @ 7 its high like I
have ovulated??? Thats why I am so
confused..Thanks for the reply, any info
does help!

Your temp will fluctuate during the course
of 24 hours, which is why I believe you
should take your temp at the same time
every day.
Also you would get a difference depending
on how cosy you get in bed.
Or to add another scenario perhaps you
should wait for a little while after you
get up.
I figure so long as you base your temp on
ones taken at the saem time you will then
be able to track it a bit easier.
See your lunchtime temp is probably
totally different to your suppertime temp.

I've been taking my temp for a few months
now, and sometimes I get up to go to the
bathroom at night too, but I always take
my final wake up temp, at 6:30am.
Since you're getting up at 4 and then at 7
you should really be okay, it's
recommended you take your temp after at
least 3 consecutive hours of sleep, so
you'll be fine.
Also, your temp is likely to be lower at 4
am, just cause it's in the middle of the
night when your temp is lowest, it will
naturally rise as the morning progresses,
which is why even on the weekends it is
best to take your temp at the same time,
in your case 7am, not when you wake, even
another hour sleep can raise your temp
enough to give you a wonky chart.
And don't know if you're already doing it
but if you chart cervical mucus too then
you'll be that much more sure that you've
ovulated, you won't just be basing it on
your temps.
