Q: Gender Selection

First off I posted this somewhere else but in the wrong place. Hi all I am new to this group, my name is julie and I am 35 yrs old and live in nc and just wanted to share my good news. I took 100mg of clomid for 5 days to induce ovulation. I have heard good and bad about clomid but it has worked for me for the second time. I did intrauterine insemination my first try I am pregnant. I am so happy right now and I just have to share my good news. We did sperm spinning for gender selection I chose to have a little girl, has anyone here done gender selection and did it turn out the way you wanted? I know there is only a 75% chance but I took that chance. But regardless I will be happy either way I just want to see if anyone else has had it done and what the outcome was. Its only been a week and I don't have an appointment for two more weeks but I bought a home pregnancy and it shows I am pregnant. I know they say this early it could be a false reading but I did this my first pregancy and I was. Oh and by the way we used donor sperm after a failed vasectomy reversal Laughing

Fertile Focus
I'm using this microscope that tests your saliva for your most fertile days of the month. Actually, I'm really trying for a girl and have read/heard that the "transitional" days are best for conceiving a girl. (This is the theory that girl sperm are slower, yet hardier than their male counterparts and will be there to fertilize the egg when it appears). Has anyone used Fertile Focus as a natural means of gender selection? What about the gender diet? Lydia Pinkham's Herbal Compound? Any thoughts on the Shettles Method versus the O 12 Method? Thank you for any input!

I didn't know what it was called but that's exactly what I did. We already have a boy and wanted a girl. We knew it wasn't fool proof by any means but it worked! Took 3 months though. I am now 27 weeks preagnant with a little girl. As for sperm spinning I had no clue that kind of thing went on. 75% sounds like a really good chance though. Congratulations!

I thought this kind of thing only happened in movies... so you CAN choose the gender of your baby? Wow. Well, not 100%, but still...
I also don't know anything about it, sorry, but let me say welcome, and congrats on your pregnancy.

We tried sperm spinning for a girl. My husband and I had 2 boys and desprately wanted a girl so we gave it a go. Went on the Clomid and gave it a try. I was told that it was a 65% chance for a girl and 75% for a boy. Maybe each place is different. Anyway last March 2008, we welcomed not one but two healthy twin BOYS! Sorry it didn't work for me. I look at it as God telling me that a girl was just not gonna happen for us and I've accepted that it didn't happen for a reason. I have four healthy boys and I wouldn't trade any of them for a girl. They are here for a purpose. Good luck to you and I hope your outcome is better but remember that as long as you have healthy babies, that's all that matters. God has a plan for us all and girls were not in my plan.
