I honestly cannot believe it has been 3 years since september 11, 2001. It seems like it was just yesterday! My heart and prayers still go out to the victims and their families and I pray that one day the terrorists will be brought to justice.

My questions for you are...

Where were you and what were you doing when you heard the news? How did you spend that day and the days that followed?

And...What will you be doing tomorrow to remember the attacks?

Oh...And if anyone has any personal stories they want to share...Feel free!

Where were you and what were you doing when you heard the news? I was in school, and I remember I was the one telling people about it.

How did you spend that day and the days that followed? Just figuring how bush will handle the attack.

And...What will you be doing tomorrow to remember the attacks? Tomorrow is my nephews birthday, so I am going to be spending it with him.

I'll answer...

In 2001, I was in my first semester of college at auburn. I think I had 8:00 classes every morning. For some reason, my class that day had been cancelled so it was going to be a rare day for me to sleep in. My dad had gotten into the routine of calling me every morning, and the night before I had told him "dont call and wake me up unless something major is happening." well he called...I remember looking at my clock (it was 8:46...I'll never forget that!) and when I answered he told me..."i know you wanted to sleep in, but I thought you might wanna know that planes have hit the wtc". I turned on the tv to hear the news that the pentagon had also been hit. I spent the rest of the day in my pajamas in bed watching the news coverage with my roomate and suitemates.

As for remembering the attacks tomorrow, i'll probably just watch the news coverage and pray for the families who are still feeling such a terrible loss! Also, I will be praying for president bush as he continues to lead this country to defeat terrorism.

I was lying in bed watching it all on tv, I seen the 2nd plane hit. I had the phone to ear talking to chris who was watching it too. Then I phoned my mum at work and told her.

The victims and their families are in my heart and thoughts. People have to re-build and move on!

I spent most of the day in shock and in tears, you couldnt not feel terrible for the poor people in the planes and buildings!

I was in band at school (i play clarinet) when our principle came over the pa system and tried telling us what happened through tears. The rest of the day we went to the auditorium, and they put cnn on this tv projector thing. The rest of the day (and the next few weeks) we could either watch cnn, or talk about it amongst ourselves. Ever since then on the 11th of every month we hold a moment of silence for everyone who lost their lives.

At the time, I was extremely worried about my dad because he was at a doctors convention thing in new york city. That same morning, my dad was in the wtc, however he went for coffee with some other doctors when the attacks occurred. Things must really happen for reasons. My dad stayed in ny for the next 2 weeks assisting in hospitals and helping out the injured.

I am a volunteer firefighter, and tomorrow we are holding a remembrance ceremony for our fallen firefighters. Being only 25-30 miles from the city, our firecompany members had relatives who passed away along with their firefighter friends.

I was in my hospital bed recovering from scoliosis surgery when it happened....

For those that don't kno, scoliosis is when ur spine is crooked and they correct it with either a back brace or surgery.
All my nurses was crying and I had no idea why!

Where were you and what were you doing when you heard the news?
- I was asleep when the first plane hit and my mom came and woke me up. Then I watched the scond plane hit. And when the first tower fell I screamed at my mom saying that the tower feel and she was like, no it didnt its just behind the smoke. And I was like, no it fell and then they said it on the news. So yeah...

How did you spend that day and the days that followed?
- I was very saddened and confused. I didnt really understand at the time what it meant but a few days later when everything really started to set in it was like, wow.

And...What will you be doing tomorrow to remember the attacks?
- I dont really know..I will probably spend my time in the morning praying for those who lost their loved ones that day and then watch the numerous remembrance shows that will be on tv.

For some reason, whenever there was a national tragedy, I happened to be at home from school "sick". Well, same goes for sept. 11th. My mom woke me up after the first plane hit, then I watched live as the second plane hit. When the first plane hit, I asked my mom if the pilot was drunk, when the second plane hit I just freaked out. I was one of those people that watched msnbc 24/7 for the next few months. The whole incident just reaffirmed my belief that the antichrist was in office and we were all doomed. Wink

Where were you and what were you doing when you heard the news?
I was at college in florida. I was battling depression, so I had skipped my morning classes. My roomie turned on the tv about 10am and we saw it on the news. I didn't do anything all day long except stay glued to the tv!

How did you spend that day and the days that followed?
Walking around in a daze. I couldn't believe the loss of life. It was more than I had previously imagined.

Where were you and what were you doing when you heard the news?
I was in school in 4th period art and I heard it over the p.A.

How did you spend that day and the days that followed? I just watched the news in class and moved on with my life.. I felt bad but it had nothing to do with me.. It takes a while for me to process things like that and sometimes I just never do.

Where were you and what were you doing when you heard the news? I had just started college when the librarian came up & told some of us. I had never heard of the twin towers so it didn't seem that significant at the time&i also didn't realise the extent of what happened
how did you spend that day and the days that followed? When I realised the seriousness of it I cried for the people.I was in shock as I watched the news-we all were.Even though we were thousands of miles away we felt so badly for our american allies.
And...What will you be doing tomorrow to remember the attacks? There's a lot on the news about it so I will be sure to watch.I will be thinking of those who died in particular the babies born since whose fathers died in 9-11.
Oh...And if anyone has any personal stories they want to share...Feel free!
On march 17th 2002 it was the st patricks day parade in my home town-it was a very emotional day.We had several firefighters from the new york fire department who came to march with some british firefighters in the parade. The firefighters were all american but had irish origins & they'd been at the towers in the aftermath of the attacks.Everyone cried when they saw them & they were saluting at the crowd. It was so so sad Sad

Well, when the attacks happened, I was in first period at school.

I am not doing anything to remeber th attacks. I really don't know why anyone would want to. My heart goes out to everyone who was directly affected by the attacks, but I wish people would stop doing this every year.

It is my mom's birthday today, and every year it is made to seem like the most horrible day in the world. And, it is kind of not fair. She was born in 1954, years before sept 11, 2001. Now for the rest of her life ,her birthday with be a terrible day, because people will keep making it that way.

And as I said before my heart goes out to everyone who was directly affected by the attacks, but it was 3 years ago. And it was a sad day three years ago, but today there were no attacks, so why keep doing this?
