I have been plagued with uti's (urinary
tract infection) since becoming sexually
active, about 2 1/2 years ago went through
a whole spew of tests with urologist and
they found nothing, just that i'm
susceptible. I'll get one, go on
antibiotics, it will clear up (confirmed
with urine test) and then bam!, next time
I have sex it'll be back.
I had it under control, was taking a
septra (antibiotic) after intercourse and
was pretty clear, only 1 a year...But I
can't take septra now that i'm ttc (it
inhibits absorption of folic acid) so here
I am, in 2 months i'm now on my third uti,
going to the doctors on thursday...
Anyone have such extreme recurring uti's?
I drink lots of water, go pee before and
after sex (but now i'm waiting about 15
minutes before I go...Wanna give some time
for those little sperm to swim to safety
before gravity takes over), and at the
suggestion of my doctor I shower &
wash up before sex too.
Help!!

I was actually in the same boat as you.
I never had a uti in my life and once I
became sexually active with my now husband
I got three of them in less then a year.
Everytime I felt one coming on i'd usually
drink canberry juice or beer that would
clear out my system and seemed to prevent
it from coming on . Mind you if your
trying to get pregnant you might want to
stay clear of the beer. To be honest
with you mine just went away. I havent
had one in over 2 years it just up and
left. Baths can cause them too. Other
then that I really don't know what else to
say. If your doctor can't help you I hope
somebody can.

Thansk girrly, i'm going back to my family
doc on thursday and will talk to her about
it, then i'm trying a homeopathic doctor,
hoping that will help.
I am trying the cranberry, and I always
shower, no baths...I'd love if they just
went away by themselves!

hope things work out for you. Those uti
can be a pain.
I dont know if anyone has told you this
but it worked for me, uti's occur when
dirt and stuff is pushed up inside, have a
bath or shower before to be clean, if you
both can (yeah right!!)no, I woud urinate
right after sex, my husband would always
remind me try
it and see. Good luck

Thanks for the suggestions, i've been
doing all that, there's one more thing my
doctor and I discovered...I am a thong
wearer, and that can cause uti's...So no
more thong, have gone back to bikini's and
women's low rise boxers.
Here's keeping my fingers crossed that
this will do the trick!
