Dr. Says I Have Enlarged Uterus Posted: 09-14-04 15:18pm
Iwent to the doctor's for a pregnancy test
and on and off again bleeding that has
been bothering me for about 3-4 weeks.
At the visit she said that my uterus was
enlarged but wasn't sure what was causing
it. I have to go back on october 5 for
an internal sonogram to check my uterus
lining for problems and the possibility of
a miscarriage. The pregnancy test came
back negative but I don't know if I
believe it because I still feel the way I
did before---tired, pale, enlarged
breasts, nausea, vomitting and cramps
along with periodic bleeding( some
brownish). She said that these symptoms
could also be caused by just starting to
take the pill. I don't know anymore.
I am so discouraged about it and
everything. I was wondering if any out
there has been through the same or similar
thing in the past and if so do you have
any advice until I go back to the doctor
.
The spotting has stopped now for about
two weeks but I don't go back to the
doctor's until the 5th of october and I
still have not gotten my period .
Could the hcg level just have been too low
to be read by the blood test or is
something really wrong with me now?

Enlarged Uterus Problem Or Am I Pregnant?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? Posted: 09-17-04 18:38pm
Has anyone out there been told by their
ob/gyn that they have an enlarged uterus?
My ob/gyn told me that last week after
examining me for possible pregnancy
because of all of the symptoms I had been
having like nausea, vomitting, tiredness,
paleness, enlarged breasts and brownish
spotting. The blood test for hcg came
back negative but still have not gotten my
period.
And I am not sure what she meant by having
an enlarged uterus. So I was wondering
if someone out there had the same problem
and what did it turn out to be. Or could
I be pregnant and the hcg just wasn't high
even to read.
Help!!! I am so confused and I am only
18 and very scared. I don't go back the
ob/gyn until october 5. That day I will
have a sonogram done to see what the
problem is but at the moment I am just
confused, scared and frustrated. it has been a week
since I went to the doctor's and I still
have not gotten my period and there are no
symptoms of it either. I have not had a
normal period since july because my period
in august was very light. I don't know
anymore.
The next two weeks will be agonizing until
I either start or I find out what the heck
is the matter with me.

Enlarged Uterus Problem Or Am I Pregnant?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? Posted: 09-25-04 18:31pm
Pattyv: thanks for your concern but the
doctor could not get me in any sooner....
I will be glad when
the 5th of october gets here......Only 10
more days. I still have not gotten my
period or do I show any of my normal
symptoms of getting it either. I am so
confused
About this. I hope the doctor figures
out what to heck is wrong with me at this
appointment and the sonogram shows
something. I'll just be glad to find out
what is the matter....Talk to you later
.....Thanks for replying and trying to be
helpful. It is greatly appreciated

Too bad you could not get in sooner .Well.I know it is
easier said than done, but there's nothing
you can do ,so try not to freak out about
this.I went through a time about 14 years
ago when I swore that I was pregnant. No
period,very full sensation in my
abdomen,swollen breasts,the whole thing.I
went to several docs, one even said that I
was pregnant (based on the pelvic
exam,blood test came back neg).Anyway,i
was put on some hormones for several
months and it took about 6-7 months to
straighten out.I never really got an
answer to why this happened.Stressing
yourself out will only make matters
worse.Just try to be patient until oct 5th
and take it from there.I wish you the best
of luck and hope you get some good
news.Patty

Pam, it's hard to tell exactly what the
cause of your enlarged uterus could be.
There are many causes for such a thing, in
addition to pregnancy.
One is fibroid tumors, which are benign
growths of the uterine muscle. Another is
adenomyosis, which can also cause bad
cramps and heavy bleeding.
You might want to take an over the counter
pregnancy test just to be sure.
Take care and let us know how your
appointment turns out.

Juniper; thanks for your concern. I was
greatly appreciated. I started my period
last night (3rd) but it was very heavy and
clotty and today has been heavy. My
mom called the doctor to cancel my appoint
ment for tomorrow but the doctor still
wants me to have an ultrasound so I go
next tuesday (12th). She is concerned
over the heavy bleeding and wants to make
sure that everything is okay and rule out
the possibility of a miscarriage. at the moment my
emotions are really bad---i am sad because
I started and but alittle happy I did. I
am so confused . But
at least next week we will know for sure
what was the problem. I know one
thing---i will never take that "morning
after pill" again if it means screewing my
body up like this again. That pill
should be ban as far as I am concerned.
Thanks again and I will let you know next
week how I made out at the doctor's.
Thanks
