Hi!! I think might need help. I am
usually sad. Even though I hide it well.
I can't remember the last time I was
truely happy. I am always tired. I seem
to let little things bother me. I sleep
all the time. I hate myself. I hate my
life.
I want to be happy. How do I do this??

Hi!! Congradulations on helping
yourself. I think thats great. I have
tried that. I am almost 100 lbs
overweight and hate myself. I worry about
what people think, or what I believe they
are thinking. I am never happy, I can't
seem to shake this feeling, I feel like I
am worthless and have no real friends. I
always believe that propel are just
putting up with me, not that they really
want to be around me. I don't know what
is worse what people think of me or what I
believe they think. I have tried to do
this myself but can't . What can I do???

Making a choice to be happy is certainly a
start,but sometimes there are
physiological reasons for depression and a
complete exam by a doctor is a good place
to start to rule that out.It is true that
sometimes, you can choose whether or not
you are going to let something bother
you,but sometimes it is not something you
can control. If someone is suffering from
clinical depression,you need medical
attention,sometimes meds amd
therapy. Please see your doctor and tell
her/him what you just told us.Don't feel
embarassed or ashamed,we all need help
from time to time. Please see your doc
soon!Patty

Bigman,i said physiological-meaning being
caused by a physical problem(chemical
imbalance,genetic predisposition,etc.).It
is sad to see people with a mental ilness
talking to themselves, but it is even
sadder to see others making fun of them.No
one would choose to live as they do and
many have no means to get medical
attention.Mental illness is every bit a
disease just like diabetes and cancer and
people with it need treatment and
compassion, not to be laughed at or
teased.Good for you on not joining in on
their childish games.Patty
