I haven't had mine since april so I
finally went to the doctors yesterday and
there running a bunch of blood tests...He
said something about a type of cyst which
would link my period loss with my quick
weight gain... I don't go back until
approximate 3 weeks then i'll find out
about the blood tests...My doctor said not
to worry but as soon as he mentions cyst I
worry of course....He didn't do a physical
exam so i'm probable get one next time I
go....Its gonna be 3 long weeks....

I know exactly how you feel////
i had all those tests done (pap and
hormone bloodwork) to know that everything
was normal, now I ve concluded on my own
it could be my blood sugar levels. He
wanted to put me on the pill, but that
just disguises a true problem, so I poted
not to take it and further have more
bloodwork done.

It is the most horrible thing waiting for
test results..... My family would worry
so of course I tell them that the doctor
didn't say anything and i'll know in 3
weeks about the tests.....I just want to
know whats up...I mean not having my
period doesn't bother me I just want to
know why...

I haven't had a period in more than 1.5
years...Plus, the doctors have no answers
for me. It is far worse to be told they
don't know what it is.
I empathize with you both - please know
that you are not alone.
Also, it hurts to hear you say that you
don't mind not getting your period - you
should consider it a blessing as it is a
normal biological process. You have no
idea how jealous I am of other women who
have a menstrual cycle.

Even if your hormone levels are "normal"
you might want to consider using
progesterone cream (it's otc and available
at most health food stores or online).
Progesterone balances out the cycles and
helps women to ovulate regularly (which
leads to regular periods).
You can pick up a book called what your
doctor may not have told you about
premenopause by Dr. Lee which talks about
how to balance your hormones naturally.
I had a problem with amenorrhea back when
I went off the pill. I went about 10
months without a period. I finally went
to the doctor and they gave me a kickstart
of hormones - it was just three pills.
You've mentioned your blood sugar level
... Are you diabetic or hypoglycemic?
Have you had your thyroid, pancreas and
pituitary checked as well? You might want
to consult an endocrinologist instead of
your gyno in this one.
Take care.

I'm not having menstrual cycles from 5
months, since after i've moved to italy
(obviouslly there's a psychological factor
here...). I've gained a lot of weight,
feel very sleepy and been having a lot of
pimples.
I can't go to a doctor because i'm not an
italian citizen (have to wait 6 months to
go back to my country to be tested...). 3
months ago I took a progesterone
injection, but it didn't work (and I must
say i'm 100% sure i'm not pregnant).
I don't know what to do... I want my
cycle back!!!

You might want to do a little research and
then talk to your doctor about pcos
(polycystic ovarian sydrome). This is a
good website to explore: www.Pcosupport.Org

I've only missed two, although next week
will be the third period that hasn't shown
up (and I don't expect it to). My doctor
did tests for everything, and has no idea
what's wrong with me. It's definitely not
pregnancy, but everything else (hormones
and all that) checked out fine. He's
sending me to a gynocologist in a couple
of weeks, but i'm really scared, because
i've never been to one before.
Is there anything you can think of that
could be wrong with me? It's not
menopause (at least, I hope not, i'm only
18!), but I don't know what it could be.
Please help!!
Thank you so much, daile

When I had weight issues and stopped
eating as much as normal, then eating
next to nothing I also slowely lost my
menstral cycle. Then once I began eating
regularly again it came back. Only this
time it was sporadic, where as before I
had problems it was always on a
schedual...
If that helps anyone lol

Brutallyhonest...........The type of cyst
your doctor was talking about is probably
polycystic ovaries. This is what I had
and yes, it can make you miss your
periods. It made me miss mine for quite
a while. After I was diagnosed, I was
given the pill to regulate my periods.
Hope this helps a little.
