I am so confused when it comes to birth
control, I have alot of questions and hope
someone can answer them, ok the first week
on the patch they tell you to use backup
protection, is that because you can get
pregnant the first week or are you
ovulating and you can become pregnant, how
do you know when your ovulating, if anyone
knows please help!

You need to wait a week and use backup
methods because after only a week your
body is not settled into the new hormones,
and so it is not fully functional at
keeping you not pregnant. Use some other
method for the first little while, you'll
be happy you did.
About the ovulation thing, im not totally
sure about when you ovulate on the patch,
if at all. Bc tricks your body into
thinking its already pregnant, so you dont
ovulate. But you do need to take a week
off the patch each month so you still can
have your period, dont mess with that.
