What to Do!!?
Posted: 09-25-04 13:47pm

I am 15 and I think im pregnant. I was having sex with my then boyfriend a few weeks ago.. The condom ended up falling off, my period was late and I took two hpt's today.. The first came out positive and the second negative. I was advised that false positives are extremely rare.. So im pretty sure im pregnant.. How do I go about telling my child's father? Any advice? He will not take this well..

Before you worry about telling him, have you told those closest to you?
I am assuming you aren't together anymore as you said he was your then boyfriend?
Have you told your mom? I guess your sister knows from your previous post.

When I told my baby daddy, I knew it wasn't what he wanted, but also I knew him well enough to plan how to tell him, I wrote him a letter and forbade him to read it until he was somewhere safe and unlikely to be disturbed. I promised in it that I wouldn't try and ring him or anything and just waited until he got home. 7 hours later her turned up. I cried, we cuddled, ended up in bed Shocked and we're still together.

I guess if he needs to know you will just have to tell him outright.
Be prepared for the typical guy re-action though - that he will deny it being his, will say you must have slept with another guy and such like.
But once you have told him, unless he wants to pursue it further leave it.
Just my personal opinion and some will disagree I know.
Weigh up the pro's and con's - what can he offer? Do you want him involved with the baby (if you are indeed pregnant)?
Is it worth a paternity test to get him to pay up with child maintenance payments and so on?

Yea.. My sister knows, but she only comes a few weekends to visit and then goes back to college in ma so she isnt around much to help.

I live with my cousin who is 22, and I think if/when I told him he'd just want to kill rob(my ex boyfriend.. Yes we broke up).. I live with my cousin because of some family issues that I doubt any1 wants to hear about, but if I am pregnant i'm not going to have alot of people supporting me.

I like the letter idea, I don't think rob will deny it's his but probably just wont know how to handle it. This is all going to be very complicated because he is 18 and barely holding up a job.. I just hope if I am pregnant he doesnt up and leave.. I kno that sounds weak of me, but I dont have much help coming from anyone else, and I have to be realistic, if I have a baby I cannot support it by myself!

I don't know much of the usa deals on child care but I have heard many girls talking of wic - damn I lie - I haven't heard anyone, i'm on the internet!
Ok so I have read many girls postings about wic - women infants and children.
Pregnajordan in teen pregnancy is probably one to ask or mommabear, I think both jordan and nikki get or got wic.
It gets you stuff like milk, etc.

Never give up Wink

Hey,

i say before you say anything else you should go see a Dr. With one positive and one negetive you need to be sure. Sometimes when you are young and its a first time pregnancy you can have a miscarriage and not bleed. Its called a chemical pregnancy. So go talk to your Dr. First. Save yourself as much grief as you can.

Thank you for the advice.. I was also just talking to my sister about it, and I should go to a doctor. My problem being that I dont have much transportation anywhere i'm not old enough to drive.. My sis thinks rob's obligated to help me with that/ and should be there for the results.. I dont know.. I dont think i'd say obligated.. I just want to get this figured out asap

If your guy is 18,he is an adult and can be held accountable in the eyes of the law.You did not get pregnant on your own and he should help support his child. He could also have another problem on his hands for having sex with a minor. You should not spare him anything,he is just as responsible as you are for the baby.Best to you.Patty

Actually false positives are not rare, they just don't happen its not possible to have a test show positive for something that just isn't there

False positives do happen.

Yes, they are rare but not impossible.

For instance a test could be faulty and both strips could contain the "working test" instead of one part being the "pregnant" test.

Also if they are out of date, or if you have been taking certain hormone treatments.

If a test has being in damp conditions then there would be a risk of the dye bleeding through, which also happens when you leave a test too long.
If you leave a negative test for some time and look again it may well then show positive because the dye bleeds through.
