Someone Help Me!!!!!!!! Posted: 09-25-04 17:11pm
I am rather embarassed to say this, but at
only age 18, I have found that I have
small bumps growing in my genital area.
There is one on my labia, and a loose
group of about 6 on my perimuem (between
my vagina and anus). My first thought
was genital warts. That really scares
me. I am sexually active, and currently
in a relationship, but don't want to share
this information with my partner until I
know what it really is. If there is
anything anyone knows that could help me
here (rule it out would be nice), please
write back. Thanks.

I am planning on it..I was just hoping
someone could give me some insight as to
what it cold be if anyone had experienced
anything like this...I know I need to see
a doctor - just trying to see if there was
anything else I could expect...If I wanted
someone to tell me to see a doctor, I
wouldnt of come here..I couldve told
myself that. Obviously thats not what im
going to get here, judging by the response
ive had...So, im not coming here
again...So much for help.
Listen dont be so mean, we are not doctors
here and we will help give advice where we
can. But were not going to make a
diagnosis and give someone the wrong info
if it could jeopardize theyre health and
that of others. You will need to see a
doctor regardless of what anyone in here
would say.

I am sorry you fell that way, but I don't
think kelli was trying to offend you.
You didn't say in your original post that
you were planning on seeing the doc
anyway, so she didn't know that you
were.
A lot of people come here and ask
questions and then never see a doctor
which is a really freakin bad idea.
I am sorry you were offended, but you need
to be less touchy.

Please dont be scared to get a doctors
advice- in the uk we have loads of sexual
health cllinics, completely confidential
and they are great- as students-me and all
of my friends have found our way down
there. Its much easier to treat sooner,
because- if warts- they can be get rid of
quickly- further more u must tell ure
partner- a scary and daunting thought- but
he or she needs to also be checked out- u
r risking ure own health if not. -whats a
mild bit of embarrasement for complete
peace of mind. Im 19 and the first time I
went I could of died of embarrasment and
what u must remember that although not
millions of people have seen ure bits, the
doctors have sseen millions of others and
will not be fazed by any prob- theyve
heard and seen pretty much everything so
dont be ashamed-its very common- so love
ure self and get help-best of luck-xxx

Yes, it is embarassing, and so, I am
rather touchy about it...I didnt mean to
come off as a b!T$h, but that did kind of
offend me - I do mean to go and see a doc,
I was just hopng someone could offer me
some insight as to what this could be...If
maybe they had experienced something
similar...I have since my last post,
noticed black in my stool and (as a cna) I
know that this could mean blood in the
stool (possibly an open sore/polyp), so
now my mind is torn between genital warts
and possibly a cancer...I dont know..I am
going to find out what insurance I have
from my dad tomorrow and hopefully
tomorrow as well, make an appointment for
a physical...Im so scared..My family does
have a history of cancer, but im only 18,
so that has been running through my head,
but I also don't want my partner to think
of me differently because of this - I love
him and he loves me, and we have plans of
getting married..And I really dont want
this to mess up our plans...I want to be
completely honest with him, I just dont
want things to change between us - I will
tell him once I find out what is really
wrong with me..Until then, I think I will
just keep this to myself...No need to wake
the proverbial sleeping dog.

You must very scared at the mo, try not to
worry about ure symptoms- I no u sed u
were going to the drs tomorrow so
goodluck, I wouldnt worry until uve spoken
the professionals, becasue sometimes we do
bits of research and scare oursleves
more!! Its great that u r thinking about
all possibilies, but dont get ure self in
to much of a state until u actually no
whats up. I no thats not much help- just
remember to tell the dr all ure symptoms
if u can and want to, try and see a
female dr, becasue u may feel less
embarassed that way
goodluck and all the best
thinking of u

It really sounds like hpv... A friend of
mine had it she said she noticed the same
types of "bumps" growing. I would
definitely see a doctor before having
anymore intercourse with your boyfriend.
None of us are doctors... This is just
all from personal experience... It sounds
like you're doing the right thing by going
to the doctor. Good luck!

Yes, good luck to you. Polyps don't
necessarily mean cancer though, so don't
stress! That is a horrible thing to
worry about.
You could have many different things and I
really just don't know what to tell you.
I am glad you are going to a doctor
though. I wish you the best!
