Stomach Pains
Posted: 09-25-04 17:41pm

Well the other day my stomach was hurting so bad and it only felt a little better if I bent over, it was like that for about two hours or so. I told my doc and she told me that when that happens I need to drink two huge bottles of water and lie down and if it still doesnt stop then call her cause it might be premature labor!!!! Thats scairy, has this happened to anyone else?

My friend was like that when she had kidney stones while preggy.

Wow, really they recommended you drink 2 huge bottles of water???
That is so dangerous, drinking too much water too quickly can dilute the body salts and cause lightheadedness and even coma.
The recommended daily intake is 8 large glasses around 3 litres.

I can't think what the term for it is right now but i'm sure it will come to me in a bit.

My doc recommended drinking that much water b/c she said my uterous might have been dehydrated and that might have caused the pains.

Hyponatremia is decreased sodium in the body fluid

This is unrelated really, but interesting. When some people take ecstacy they think they're dehydrated so they drink too much water. It dilutes your blood I guess, and it can kill you.

I don't think your doctor would tell you to do something that would kill you, though. It doesn't sound like all that much water anyway, and it's not like she wants you to drink it all at once right, just over the course of the day?

Well I had excruciating uterine pains, and the doctor gave me some medicine but they never came back so I never bothered, but I couldn't move that much or anything. I really hope you feel better, you should just rest though, don't put too much stress on ur body & again, hope you feel better swty.

very true and that is caused in some cases by diluting the body salts to excess with over consumption of water.

And to the other lauren yep, that's where I first heard of it - clubbing! It is how leah betts (very well known case in uk) died. Ecstacy didn't kill her, the excess fluid in her body did - she literally drowned within herself Shocked
