coma with probable severe brain damage Posted: 09-25-04 20:50pm
Hey there.Last saturday,my husband's
sister was the victim of a drunk
driver. She is is critical condition and in
a coma with probable severe brain
damage.(too soon to tell much yet)they
live in l.A. And we live near chicago. We
are going out next friday to help with the
2 kids.
So, here's the problem-when I told my
brother-in-law we were coming,he
said"yeah!!!We can all go to
disneyland!!"i thouhjt that was a rather
innappropriate response,but did not think
much of it at the time.We have been on the
phone and e-mail constantly all week and
calvin said she was reponding and things
were looking pretty good.We had all been
praying for a miracle and we thought that
we had one. However,a friend from chicago
went out to california and called and said
that was not so.There is no change in her
condition and she has not responded at all
since her admission and there have in fact
been some setbacks.
I'm vey worried that he is losing it,not
that I would be any different if I were in
the same boat. But,he is responsible for
the kids now.If he is not able to care for
those kids we would certainly step in and
take care of them, but they have already
been through so much,we would not want to
take them from their father and all their
friends and the people that they know and
love.I don't know if it will even come to
this, but i'm really worried for the
future.I guess I wanted to vent more than
anything else.Thanks.Patty
