I say go for it if you can afford the gas. My friend heather drives 1 hour every day to get to where we go to college. And she hates it. My drive is like 15 minutes and so that isn't bad. Gas is what kills a person.

If it's a good school for what you want to do than go for it. Keep in mind though that you may have to drive there for more than a few days a week and sometimes it sucks if your classes are'nt close together. Like if you have a class at 9:00 in the morning and your next one is at 3:00 in the afternoon. What if you have to take a night class? That would suck. People can do it though. I think it would be hard though. I only drive 30 minutes to school, but that seems like forever in itself.

I think an hour and 40 minutes is way to far to drive! What happens if you have an 8:00 class? And you also have to think about traffic! I only have to drive about 15 minutes and thats too much for me!

Maybe you can make some friends that live down by the school. And if you have an early class one or two days stay with them. My mom drove and hour and half to school and the days she had early classes she stayed with her friend.

Yeah I was thinking that too. Maybe even find some good friends that you can move in a house or apartment where you only pay like 100 bucks a month or something a piece.
