Delivery Food
Posted: 09-29-04 14:37pm

Okay, I don't know about ya'll but down here, delivery people don't carry change, just cash. So I just ordered some fetuchinni. The guy came to the door. My total was $10.52, so I gave him a $20. He gave me $9 dollars back, and I gave him a three dollar tip. So I closed the door ,and I thought that he got a $3.48 tip. And that is only b/c they don't give coins back. I know it is not a lot, but I order out almost everyday 2 times a day, so all of that little change adds up. Now I guess, i'll just have to go back to my no tip policy. Ohh and get this, after he gave me my nine dollars, he make a fake ass turn like he was walking away, but kept his eyes on my hand. This health question, thought he was clever. The next time he comes I going to have a big suprise for him.

Yeah but if you think about it, the gas the spend going to deliver your food adds up too lol. Not just some change. So it actually gets costly for them. I usually tip depending on the price. One time I only gave a $2 tip cuz it took them 1 hour to deliver a pizza and the pizza was $18!! I was like "ghetto people!"

Ya'll don't have paper bills? Do you have 10 pound coins? 100 pound coins?

Yea, it was good. That is why I order it like everyday. And yea, it could cost them nikki. But down here delivery drivers get paid double and sometimes triple what the people that work in the store make. Plus they get reimbursed for mileage, have gas gas allotment, and the company pays their car insurance. Hell, not only do they make more than me, but they get benefits on top of it.

Laughing to erin, no of course we have paper money but it is all classed together as cash - cash is any physical money, as opposed to plastic or cheque Laughing I guess we're just weird

Oh I knew it was called cash.... Destiny said the delivery guys don't carry change, just cash, and I thought you were talking about change, but you were talking about cash! Lol! Change is a subset of cash here. Coins are cash too, just bills are not change (usually).

Hehe change is what we get when we pay with cash. Like if I spend £15 and give a £20 note i'll get a £5 note change.

It's dialect as opposed to language isn't it Question

Yeah we use it that way too, just when you talk about change in general or carrying change then you usually mean coins. Like if I said do you have change for a ten, that would mean bills, but if I said do you have change, that would mean coins.
