Hey, so for the last month, i've had
constant heartburn. It doesn't matter the
time of day, whether I just ate (and I eat
healty), or anything...It won't go away.
I took tums to see if that would help, and
it did not do a thing. I've also been
feeling nausia, and sharp pain in my left
abdomen. Im an 18 yr old f wondering what
it could be? Thanks

I would try prilosec.. Not tums.
Prilosec works to prevent heartburn. I
have constant heartburn myself. I take
prescription prevacid though (prilosec
wasn't strong enough for me). Take it
for a week or two and see if it starts to
help (it takes a few days to see the full
effect so don't get frustrated if it
continues). You can take tums (i would
recommend rolaids or mylanta.. Tums never
worked for me) while you are on this
medicine. It may be that you need to see
a doctor to rule out anything else. I
started getting heartburn when I was
16-17, but didn't have the constant
heartburn until I was 21-22. I finally
went on medicine when I was 24. The
heartburn can increase naseau.. But if
you still feel pains even after going on
the medicine for a bit I would definitely
see a doctor. It doesn't sound like
anything too serious though, but you may
need to go on medicine for the heartburn
every day... At least for awhile.

I use gaviscon, it seems to help me, it
comes in chewables or liquid, I know that
what works for one, may not work for the
other. You might think about checking it
out with your dr, to be sure.
Do you eat a lot of tomatoe drink coffee?
Are you stressed out or anxious, this
could have something to do with it .
Good luck!
Sincerely,
sandy
