Time to Tell? Posted: 09-30-04 00:42am
My mom and I are really close. Best
friends. And i'm sitting here thinking
maybe its time she puts me on birth
control. I'm almost 16 i've been with my
boyfrined for almost two years.
I grew up without a childhood. Kind of
had to be responsible from 9 on. My mom
and I have talked aboutit before and she
told me when im ready just tell her. I
have the urge to have a baby but I know I
can't.
-one for the fact that I can't fully
support one, not yet.
-two because my family would think it to
be morally wrong.
-three, I don't want to have a child
growing up thinking the mother just just a
dumb teenager and got pregnant.
-four, I dont wantto have it get in the
way of college.
So heres come birth control I guess?
For anyone that has sex without being on
birth control and are afraid of being
pregnant; talk to your mom. I trust its
going to be hard. Maybe this post for a
bit more for other people that are worried
about getting pregnant, but i'm tired and
I ramble.
Girls- its normal for people your age to
be put on the pill. Don't hid it and end
up regreting it. She might be angry at
first but you have to remember, she feels
like shes losing her baby girl. You just
gotta be strong.
First it is great that you are considering
talking to your mom about it, she is the
best person to talk too. Too many girls
cant do this and it is very important.

Sounds like you have an awesome mom!!It
sounds like you do need to be on birth
control,but remember,it is your
responsiblilty,not your mom's!!!(you
posted before that you thought she should
put you on bcp's)it always makes me glad
to see that there are some parents who are
encouraging their kids to talk to
them, whatever the subject. My mom was like
that when I was growing up and I had all
the info I needed to be safe.My sister and
I even had friends who would ask my mom
things that they would never discuss with
their own parents!(sad that they felt they
couldn't).I try to encourage my 15 year
old stepson to talk about any and all
things-and much to my discomfort he
does!!I'm glad he can talk to me,after
all,he needs to get his questions answered
somewhere(better he ask me or his dad than
one of his friends, who may not know the
correct info!!)good luck to you,you sound
like a wise and responsible person.See a
gynecologist and discuss your options for
birth control and then use the method
exactly as directed.Best to you!Patty
