My therapist and I have 2-3 hour therapy
sessions once a week, his last appt. Of
the day. This at first may seem odd but
in all honesty this man has been the first
to help me break down walls of shame and
build me back up. I've had 2 other
therapists prior to him and none can even
come close to the abilities he has. I am
confused but have no inclinations of
leaving him. Please, any feedback from
those in similar situations would be
helpful. Thanks!

First of all, i'm very glad that you seem
to be getting the help that you have been
seeking for a long time. It is very hard
to live with the situations that you have
described without help and understanding,
I know of what you speak from personal
experience.
Secondly, run as fast as you can away from
this psycologist because he is a preditor,
preying on your known weekness and fears.
He has a responsiblity to you to keep a
professional and personal distance from
you. You said he "told you, you were in
love", a person in love doesn't need to be
told, they know. As far as your feeling
a closeness and "love" for him, it is
called "transferance". A patient feels
love for the doctor or psycologist who
heals or helps them get better. It is
perfectly natural and happens all the
time.
However, it is the responsibilty of the
psycologist to keep the professional
distance and protect the patient!
If you also have a psychiatrist or md that
you see, you need to inform them of this
situation so they can help you. This
situation could set you back in your
therapy and progress and send you into a
depression. Please seek the help of
someone and alert someone to this
situation.
Best of luck

Hey trap.....Your advice made me laugh
like a manic mad woman!!!! Oh the life
of a bp, isn't it hilarious? Where do you
live in ca? I'm vacationing there in 33
days (and counting), is it warm and
sunny....Oh wait...That's right it's ca,
of course it is! I live on the west side
of mi ...Far away from detroit, just found
out it is the #1 std and fat city in the
nation! Sorry to offend any detroiters.
Ok....Totally off subject and so is my
brain! Au revoir!

Mindstatic,
her I am in central michigan and not only
can I not find a therapist, I cannot
afford to go to one. Been off work for
the last 12 months at the recomendation of
day treatment therapist. Trying out med
regimes. Just sitting with my disorder.
Am going back to teaching school as a sub
and perhaps some retail work for the
holidays. No snow here yet. California
here you come!
