Amari Is Leaving Me...
Posted: 10-03-04 21:42pm

I haven't explained my situation to you guys yet but me and romair have joint physical custody of amari. I have her 6 months and he has her 6 months.

This all took place when romair left me for his now exgirlfriend. I don't understand why we have to do this when both me and romair are getting along now. Is there a way we can fix this?

I was thinking about going back to court to have this all worked out.

On october 6th, she goes over to romair. He is visiting his mother who lives 30 minutes away from me and I can't stand not to see my daughter everyday. I have work and school and it would be difficult to see her all the time. But just think when they go back to indianapolis and I won't be able to see her for 2 weeks at a time. What should I do?

He lives that close but goes to him for 6 months. I don't think that makes since. The courts must have not been thinking.... They never do something like that. Maybe every weekend or every other.... But not for 6 months at a time to someone who is 30 minutes away.......

I'm sorry. His mother lives 30 minutes away from me. Thats who he's visiting currently. He stays in indianapolis. I'm in ohio.

Sorry about the confusion...

He's staying with his mother for 3 weeks but just becuz he is visiting there, still doesn't change the 50/50 thing.

Well, I think you and your baby's daddy need to talk. And if that doesn't work, you should probably go back to the courts. The way they have it is really weird... Especially since that won't work once she starts school (i know, that's a pretty long way off but you need to think in advance). Good luck!

Damn that sucks, honestly though I dont think the courts would change a thing, because romaine(spelling) might not want things changed. Or he could say medical question that he wants her full time. You dont want to end up messing things up more..

Thanks ladies!
I talked to romair last night and he said he is down with whatever I do.
So I am going to go ahead and talk to my lawyer and explain the situation
to her and have romair do the same, so we can change all this.

*newlife*
nope, he's not doing anything wrong at all. So we'll just settle this all in court.

We both think it would be best, if I had full custody and he just visits whenever he comes down here. I think that will be the best for the 3 of us.

Thanks again for responding with your informational comments!

I love to see people work this stuff out. It's so hard on not just the parents, but the kid too when the parents can't agree. Job well done!
