Off Pill After 8 Years! Please Help. Posted: 10-04-04 14:16pm
Hello!
In march I got off the pill after 8 years.
I am experiencing a dramatic weight
increase, loss of hair, skin changes and
decreased sex drive. I'm not sure what to
do. I got off the pill because my hubby
and I are trying to get pg. Please help
me! I have put on about 12-15 pounds in 6
months and keep gaining.
I only thought those were symptoms of
going on the pill in
any case your body is going thru hormonal
changes which could be causing this. Have
you recently gone on anti depressants

Yea, I thought the same thing...All my
symptoms are those of getting on the pill.
No, I am not taking any anti-depressants
or any medications for that matter. The
hormonal changes in my body are very
weird. I have made an appt w/ my
obgyn...But it's not for 2 more weeks.
I'm really confused!

I would think its resonable to think that
the same thing would happen when going on
the pill as going off, its hormonal
change, which messes with many things,
like what your experiencing. Also when
being on the pill for that long, it may
take a few months for the birth control to
get out of your system completly and to
build the lining it would need for
pregancy which your birth control would
usually break down. I wouldnt be too
worried about it as long as it doesnt go
on for too long. Hopefully things will
clear up within a month. Hope you get
better and best of luck to getting
pregnant! :)
