Don't Know If Someone Can Help Me.............. Posted: 10-05-04 15:15pm
Hi everbody, i'm new to this site and I
saw a lot of people being helped so I
thought somebody could help me. I am 24
and I have hpv, my doctor's say its under
control. My boyfriend is 31 and we were
wondering if it's ok to try and concieve
later on in life or something we need to
do now. I have scar tissue built up from
previous surgies that I have had and
sometimes I have some pain where the did
procedures on me, but i'm lost. We want
a baby but we don't want to lose or
chance, since it may be more difficult for
me to concieve than normal women(so the
doctors say). Any help or advice is
greatly appreciated!!!

I really don't know. Your doctor is the
best to advise on this.
You have plenty of time to try for
children as you are only 24, but yes, it
could take you longer to concieve if you
have scar tissue. Also, I believe that
you risk passing hpv onto your child
during birth, and how would you protect
your partner?
This is from about.Com
if you are pregnant, you should not use
podophyllin or podofilox because they are
absorbed by the skin and may cause birth
defects in your baby. In addition, you
should not use 5-fluorouracil cream if you
are expecting.
Genital warts may cause a number of
problems during pregnancy. Sometimes they
get larger during pregnancy, making it
difficult to urinate. If the warts are in
the vagina, they can make the vagina less
elastic and cause obstruction during
delivery.
Rarely, infants born to women with genital
warts develop warts in their throats
(laryngeal papillomatosis). Although
uncommon, it is a potentially
life-threatening condition for the child,
requiring frequent laser surgery to
prevent obstruction of the breathing
passages. Research on the use of
interferon therapy in combination with
laser surgery indicates that this drug may
show promise in slowing the course of the
disease.
What research is going on?
Scientists are doing research on two types
of hpv vaccines.
One type would be used to prevent
infection or disease (warts or
pre-cancerous tissue changes). The other
type would be used to treat cervical
cancers. Researchers are testing both
types of vaccines in people.
Where can I get more information?
