Headaches And Tired of Them Posted: 10-07-04 08:52am
I was diagnosed with hydrocephalus in 1987
and shunted after numerous revisions and
a complicated case with elevated protein
in spinal fluid,stroke,muscle
weakness,visual problems, continued
headaches, a search was on for other
diagnosis which was finally determined to
be neurosarcoidosis/central nervous system
sarcoid/sensory
polyneuropathy,arthralgia,and possible ms
I have been on immunosuppressives
basically since 1995 and now they are not
working. I am discouraged and am
currently waiting to see an immunologist
for further treatment. I guess what I
want to ask is I basically have never been
completely headache free except for maybe
right after my first shunt was placed. I
have went on other forums and have found
that lots of adult onset hydrocephalus
have chronic headaches also but we
basically get the run around from our
neurosurgeons that our shunts are working
so where do we turn from there it is
really difficult to wake up with a
headache every day of your life. Help in
texas, jeanna

You must be at the end of your rope!It is
very discouraging when docs do not give
you concrete answers.Sometimes,it is
because they truly do not know how to
help, but do not want to say.Hopefully, you
will find some answers with the
immunologist.I have migraines and have
found some benifit with magnesium and vit
b-6.Won't hurt you.May be worth a try.Good
luck to you.Patty

i have found good things with these
vitamins as well... I take magnesium and
a b-50 complex (which has b-6 and other b
vitamins in it). I am not familiar with
your specific problem, but these vitamins
might at least help things.

Hi jeanna...I have tourette syndrome and
recently started topamax but have read
numerous times that it is also used in the
treatment of migraines and headaches.
Maybe that is an option. Hope I helped.
Good luck to you jeanna.
