I had mono a while ago. I got over it
pretty quick because I really took care of
myself. My mom's friend gave me this
stuff that's supposed to help your liver
or something, I didn't really understand
it but I think it probably helped. It was
called monobrex, I think, if anyone's
interested.
The only thing to be worried about is
being out of the loop for a few weeks--as
long as you take care of yourself.
You need to eat really healthy, lots of
raw vegetables and fruit (raw as much as
possible, steamed second best, then
frozen, canned is the worst) because raw
food has a ton of vitamins, trace
minerals, lots of stuff your body needs
every day but especially now.
If you go to the doctor the only thing
they will do is tell you to go home and
stay in bed until you feel better, because
mono is a virus and there's no cure,
antibiotics won't work (infact, they're
really bad if you have a viral infection,
they make the infection mutate or
something because they dont' work).
Anway, eat really well, drink a lot of
water and get lots of rest. If you try to
keep your energy up and stay active it
will get worse (you probably don't even
feel like doing that anyway).
You have to be sure to not do anything
until you feel better, even if it's a
while. A lot of people try to get back
too soon and end up getting chronic mono,
which means it reoccurs frequently and
sometimes that leads to chronic fatigue
syndrome...Bad stuff
so take care of yourself and enjoy the
opportunity to relax and be pampered!
