Birth Control Depo-shot Nightmare!! Posted: 10-14-04 23:02pm
I have gained almost 30lbs and am
experencing sore breasts,and uncomfortable
pains in my uterus since I have been off
the depo shot. Also frequent headaches.
I have always excercised anywhere from
3to5 times a week and tried to maintain a
pretty healthy diet. This is the first
time that I have ever felt this extremely
uncomfortable in my own skin. If
maintaing a healthy diet and excercise
program is not changing my weight at all.
Anyone know of any other b.C. Methods or
ideas to suggest? Im all ears.

Try going on the pill instead of the
shot.. If you don't like the idea of
taking pills each day, ask your doctor
about and iud (which is an implant).
This way you aren't taking any hormones
and your system might regulate out. I
gained a few pounds on depo, but have lost
some of it finally.

I am on yasmin and it is hyped as helping
you lose a little bit of weight. I
haven't noticed any weight loss but I know
some people that use it do. The only
catch is that it is water weight you are
losing instead of actual fat. Yasmin
contains a diuretic and it helps the body
rid itself of excess water.

Okay so I was supposed to go back and get
my second depo shot on January 5th but I
didnt because I didnt like how the shot
made me feel, it made me really sick. It
has been almost 4 months since I have had
a period and its starting to scare me. I
have been feeling really sick lately and
really moody and crying for no reason. I
got a pregnancy test and it came back
negative and the doctor told me to not
worry and go back on the pill so I did,
should I be worried? and does anyone know
how long it takes for your periods to
become normal again? I really dont want to
be pregnant, its freaking me out.

After DEPO, your period could take 6-8
months to return, because depo is so
strong.
It is GOOD that you went back on the
pill.
You should not be worried because a
pregnancy test was negative, and you went
back on the pill.
It is unnecessary to wait for a period in
order to begin BC pills.

I was supposed to get my next shot in
December too, but I've had nothing aside
from two incidents of spotting and that's
it.
I'M not worried because I KNOW this is
what is NORMAL.
