Hello, is it possible to contract genital
warts without ever having sexual contact
and without your mother having it. I
ask this because for the past week or two
i've been slightly sore and itchy down
below. The pain is not constant but
sometimes it will really itch and burn.
I just had my period this past week too.
When I examined myself I found what
appears to be a small flesh colored growth
that is long and skinny protruding from my
skin near the opening of my vagina.
Also, the area around my opening feels
rough and bumpy. Could this be an
allergic reaction to something? My
opening also looks slightly swollen.
I've never been sexually active so I could
not have got it from there and my mother
has never mentioned anything about her
having genital warts. I'm 18 so I think
she would have by now if she did. My
mother has however had female problems in
the past with cyst growing on her ovaries
or maybe it was her uterus but she finally
had to have a hysteractamy (sp.?). Any
help or advice would be great.

I have cists on my ovaries and sometimes
when they "act up" it makes the rest of me
feel not so nice. Like tenderness in ab
area , discharge, things like that! Does
it feel like your cramping from your
period? Thats how mine feel when they
start to act up! Some times if a cists
pops ill bleed a little. That something
you have to get checked it can cause you
pregnency probs down the line ! Go to the
doc and tell them whats wrong . Chanches
are they will give you a sonogram so they
can like take pics of your ovaries! Just
get it checked

Hi, its not that I feel there is anything
the matter internally but externally near
the opening of my vagina. Any ideas of
what this might be from the description in
my above post? Thanks!

As far as externally I have no idea, maybe
an allergy, or worse warts. Im not a doc
so I dont know but get to a doc asap! Do
you have a gynocologist? Have you ever
been to the doctor? The reason I stated
my internal probs is because sometimes
when the cists burst or act up fluid
drains and causes an irritated feeling
outside. Leaving pimples and or other
things. Alot of things could be the cause
of what you explain. Just make sure to
see a doc. Im pretty positive planned
parent hood does not check for std and
such, they will tell you if you have an
infection! So looking for something more
schedule an appt with a obgyn. Keep us
posted :d

Yes,planned parenthhod will do a complete
exam as well as test for std's!Please see
someone soon if you continue to have this
problem.Doubtful that it is an std if you
have not had any sexual contact.More
likely an infection or some type of
irritation.Any new soap or detergent??How
about colored toilet paper or scented
sanitary products??All of these things can
upset the balance of your vagina and give
you some rashes and or discharge.Hope you
find some answers soon.Patty

Hope I Can Help Posted: 10-22-04 14:58pm
Just and a couple of ideas, it could
possibly be a ingrown hair or a yeast
infection. I have had both and they both
are very irritating. A yeast infection
itches and burns and an ingrown hair
sticks out kinda like a pimple but it
hurts like a bruise. That is just my
experience. If it is a yeast infection
you should get some medicine for it. They
sell it at any store like target or
walmart or even the grocery store. I hope
I could help! Good luck. Keep us
posted!

The best thing to do is go seek expert
advice from a female ob-gyn; that's first.
The only real info you give besides the
irritation is a long skinny flesh-colored
growth near your opening.. The top of
the opening, near your urethra, or below
your clitoris, on the side, around the
perineum...? The irritation is probably
minor although uncomfortable, & can be
caused by a sensitivity to certain fabrics
in underwear or laundry detergent;
bounce-type fabric softeners are known to
cause problems w/ sensitive skin. Could
be a yeast infection. You may get some
relief w/ vagisil or something until you
can get to a doctor. And there is one
more thing to consider, (and you'll want
to see that ob-gyn and ask her)...Some
women are "blessed" with an extra-long
clitoris...
Good luck.
