Aloha,
i just joined your group--looks like
there's some good information here. I was
diagnosed with ra one week ago. What a
shock. I'm dealing with it with optimism,
though.
right now, the challenge is figuring out
the best diet I can follow. While I
realize (by now) that each person will
have different food allergies, I
understand there are some foods that most
rheumatoid arthritis people should stay
away from. Some websites consistently
mention eggs and one article I read (i
can't find it now ) said it
was because of the lethicin in the eggs.
My question is the following: is lethicin,
in general, bad for us to consume?
It seems like several, seemingly great,
supplement drinks geared toward people
dealing with ra contain soy lethicin.
With soy being listed sometimes as an
inflammatory food too, this ingredient
confuses me.
Is soy lethicin generally ok for people
(dealing with and conquering:) rheumatoid
arthritis to consume?
Thank you (in advance),
marlakate

I have fibro and arthritis, possibly the
rheumatoid type. (doctors keep going back
on forth whether it is osteo, rheum or
psoriatic)
nightshade plants can be a problem for
some with arthritis, tomatoes and potatoes
that is....Not sure what else will be. I
will do some looking.
I cannot do soy of any kind, I have become
highly allergic to it....
Some people really shout praises for
soy.....Others think it is poison. It
sure has become that for me!!

Arthritis diet: foods to avoid...
The most common food culprits are:
sugar
caffeine
citrus
salt
red meat
dairy products
additives
soft drinks
flour
nightshades (examples below)
eggplants
red peppers
tomatoes
white potatoes
tobacco
if you do eat any of these foods, pay
attention to any reaction you might have
in the next 24 hours. If you notice a
reaction, you are indeed allergic to that
food item
