I am currently a medical student, and
working on a (hypothetical) case of a 14
yr old with down syndrome who may be going
to have a hysterectomy. Im looking for
any information people can give me on
whether this would be legal, if anyone
knows someone with downs who has had a
hysterectomy, or what the possible side
effects of the operation are, especially
for someone with cardiac diesease.

Umm, well, i've never heard of any doctor
doing a hysterectomy on a woman who didn't
have children unless there was a medical
reason, such as cancer. I'm not sure if
down syndrome would count as a reason or
not.
