Crap I used to be so good in english but I haven't been to school in so long and i'm still not, so I completely forgot about conjuctions, prepositional phrases and all that good stuff. I'll still try though, hold on.

Prepositional phrases...

1. The team ran onto the field (during soccer practice)
2. The president delivered his speech (about abortion rights in america)
3. The detective slowly opened the door (towards the bedroom)
4. I slept late ( because of the alarm not going off) because of is the preposition.
5. Roy pushed the button (under the table)

those are prepositional phrases, I will help more in a bit.

Verbal phrases-
1. The team ran onto the field (to get a drink of water)
2. The president delivered his speech (to pursuade people)
3. The detective slowly opened the door( to find the killer)
4. I slept late (to catch up on sleep)
5. Roy pushed the button (to recieve service)

The bolds are the prepositional phrases.

1. the team ran onto the field because of the captains injury.
2. by kerry strongly disagreeing with bush's views on employment the president delivered his speech.
3. with his case files in hand and his fashlight in view the detective slowly opened the door.
4. on account of my neighbors house warming party i slept late.
5. according to witnesses roy pushed the button to trigger the alarm.

The bolds are the verbal phrases.

1. believing the umpire made a bad call the team ran onto the field.
2. the president delivered his speech insulting both democrats and catholics
3. inspecting the condition of the house the detective slowly opened the door.
4. i slept late after playing cards all night
5. roy pushed the nurses button to seek medical help

(i haven't use the correct commas and punc. So im guessing when u check it, u will do it)

the bolds are appositive phrases

1. the team a violent squad ran onto the field to fight.
2. the president, a hypocrite delivered his speech which only ended up disappointing viewers.
3. the detective a very sly and wise man opened the door slowly.
4. I slept late since my favorite movie, titanic, came on at midnight.
5. roy, a very challenged individual, pushed the button and stopped the elevator.

The bolds are the absolute phrases

1. securing their reputation as winners secured by victory the team ran onto the field.
2. with his face beaming happily the president delivered his speech
3. With his face, sweat-streaked and smudged with ash the detective opened the door slowly only to find a burned rag doll.
4. feet squeaking on the floor I slept late due to fright.
5. roy pushed the button his eyes and nose taped shut he was in search of desperate help.

(ps: im not too sure about the last bunch,lol. They are the trickiest)
