I come back and read this thread and I
just want to keep sharing, and hope that
people pick up things or really stop and
think.
When I first had this problem two years
ago and didn't know what was wrong with me
and couldn't get rid of it, I went to my
doctor, she gave me a script for a
medicine for IBS and was ready to send me
home. I didn't want the pills, I wanted
to know what was wrong and how to correct
it. She told me then stop eating carbs and
let your body rest up and get back its
good flora. I didn't understand.
I researched my problem more, went to my
local health store, the owner is so smart
and does not try to sell every product in
her store. She gave me CandiGone and told
me that for two weeks, I should stay away
from refined sugar, and carbs. She told me
that we as humans eat alot of fiber (wheat
this and wheat that) but wheat is very
hard for us to digest and it causes alot
of problems internally. We need fiber, but
we need it from vegetables, fruit and
nuts, naturally. (not a cupcake that has
extra fiber added to it, LOL)
So, I went home and did what I was told.
(example, for breakfast I can have eggs,
bacon, or tuna salad) I don't eat regular
bread, I eat special bread and I only have
that bread twice aweek. I eat alot of
salads or meat without all the bread
stuff.
I started to feel better, growling was
gone and I felt good. For the first time
in a long time by the end of the day, my
pants didn't feel four sizes to small
because of bloating. Then I started to
add just certain foods, and watched for
any that would cause a problem. In my
case, I don't handle simple carbs or alot
of sugar well, it may be an age thing at
this time in my life or my system just
changed, or my inner body is telling me it
is time to treat me better. I don't get
hungry, because believe it or not, carbs
make you hungry.
A few months later I went to a
reflexlogists, and she found my problem
right away, it amazed me that she could.
But she told me to take a probiotic that
is made up on dirt, it is a natural form
of good bacteria. And she said eat fiber,
vegetables and fruit.
I read alot and look into things, and it
amazes me the things we can learn. I am
not a health nut, but I know what a
difference it makes to take better care.
I do not miss the awful feeling of the
growls or run down feeling. And yes, I
have had a set back once or twice, but I
always get right back on track.
I agree, we need to take a daily
supplement, probiotic or enzyne, but once
we get our good flora back we will feel
good, we just have to keep it.
I am sorry to go on and on, but I felt so
bad for so long and it affected my life so
much, that now I am happy to know what to
do, and just let others know. You have to
work at it, something changes and our
bodies are saying no more, watch what and
how you eat.
I will stop now.
