Hey all, hope you're good and that the
damn noises are not taking over too much.
Well, my Easter hols are almost over and
on Mon it will be time for me to return to
the silence of the lecture halls

I am absolutely
dreading it. And knowing that i have to
sit 5 exams in just a few weeks is
bothering me even more. Roll on June...
I've been taking probiotic yogurt drinks,
Acidophilus Bifidus capsules, the
peppermint oil capsules given to me by my
GP, as well as eating live yogurt, but no
improvements. After the docotor dismissed
my theory of a possible yeast overgrowth
and put my noisy stomach down to IBS i
resigned myself to the fact that i would
just have to live with this embarassing
problem.
Today, however, i have new-found hope! I
was at the pharmacy buying a thrush
treatment (as you may remember i said a
few weeks ago that i had recently been
plagued by thrush and athlete's foot,
gross i know), and the pharmacist started
asking questions such as how much sugar i
consumed and if i drank wine. Anyway, she
came to the conclusion that i was probably
suffering from an overgrowth of yeast in
the gut!! Exactly what i had initially
thought! I told her that the GP had
dismissed the possibility, even refused to
acknowledge it, but she told me to go to a
health food shop and pick up some Caprylic
Acid, which is an anti-fungal, and to
avoid sugar and yeast in my diet. So i'm
going to try this and see what happens.
Fingers crossed... Because the only other
thing i could think of trying was some
form of sound insulation (I'm with you on
this one Growlgurl!). I even asked the
doctor if such a thing existed, she just
looked at me sceptically and continued
with her IBS talk.
Just thought i would pass on this info
incase anyone else has symptons similar to
mine and wanted to give this a try (Type
Candida Albicans into Google if you want
to see a list of possible symptons). I
will let you know how i get on with it.
